Just has this idea on my way to lunch. Just for fun, lets brainstorm for some funny (existing) abilities to give figures.
My idea:
A hoverbike with Grapple.
1. Jump jets + DI Schmitt "Look it's a flying tank!"
2. Evade + Peasant company "####, I can't catch them."
3. Rapid strike + CBA "Street fighter characters in battle armor"
4. Atlas + Decoy + Camouflage "Look it's the size of a 10 story building but we can't see it."
5. Joust tank + Brawling "Watch out for that turret!"
6. Agility + hoverbikes "Haha, we are go to run away from you and you can't hurt us at all."
7. Mech + single use Point Defense throughout the dial "I base a friendly unit and implode."
8. Mech with Hardened armor, ECM, Agility, and Command painted black and grey "Goth mech"
9. Antipersonnel + infantry with high attack and low defense and range of 0-2'.
10. Grapple + JJ + vehicle "It's a clamp on a dump truck with wings."
Infantry with alpha strike. Works like a sucide troop with bombs strapped to their chests. Instead of clicking a heat dial, you click their main dial and do one click of damage for each click of life they have left. Of course, they don't survive their own attack. If it is shown as single use, that click is applied first.
Example: The mad bomber unit has listed damage of two with alpha strike and three clicks until death. He does 2+3 for a total of 5.
2nd Example. The lesser bomber has a listed damage of 1 with single use alpha strike. He has three clicks of life. He does
1 point for the listed damage
minus 1 point for single use
plus 3 for the three clicks of life.
totaling 3 points.
These would be kind of fun. Maybe they should have a blast radius...

Wow, that would be 56 shots. By odds alone oyu would probably get a critical hit in there. Just better hope that a crit miss doesn't come first though.

Actually, a 'Mech with:
Hardened Armor
Steaks
Agility
Command
ECM
doesn't sound half bad. If artillery were not present, it might actually be too powerful.
Well, I can explain some of the 'bypass issues' that have been listed here...
Inova Wolf:
Imagine for a second that you're halfway through a 450-point game, and an assault tank is bearing down on your last remaining artillery unit - and after that, all you've got is a "salvaged" (Yes, I know, she doesn't actually have salvage) Inova and an infantry or two that have captured an enemy 'Mech... say... a 150-pointer, for arguement's sake.
-For bloody heck's sake, bypass the darn Mech with Inova, and save your darn artillery from that tank!
Single-Use Bypass:
Guys... you're gonna lose the unit anyway for using the bypass - making the Bypass Special Equipment into Single Use makes it just that.much.cheaper. in the calculations of the point values.
