You can expect 450-point tournaments to become standard for future events. Why you ask? Simple, with the inclusion of the Bounty Hunter Marauder II in the CounterAssault expansion, with a point value of 326, there is no way that they can leave tournaments at the standard 300-point value that we've been accustomed to.
Granted, 450-point tournaments are a part of the proposed changes, but with the MAD-II, it is basically a done deal. Otherwise, no one would be able to use him in any game expect a HTH or Unrestricted game of 400-points or higher.
Update your armies folks, the 450-point tournament isa comin'!
During the first set of Mage Knight games were set to a standard of 200 pts. In that first set there was a figure that came in at 202 (I think maybe 201). There are a few Hero Clix figs as well that I believe are beyond the "Standard" tournament format.
Having said that I think the 450 is probably coming, but this is not really a sure indication of it IMHO.
Personally, I believe the "user playtest period" was a sham to begin with. They had already planned on deploying the rules changes as they are, and wanted to add legitimacy to them by having them "playtested" by the public. Only in cases of extreme objection would they hold off.

But isn't that the way it SHOULD have been handled?? Ideally, they should have playtested the carp out of ANY proposed changes in-house before EVER letting the public see them. The rules should have been so refined that only if they had been BLATENTLY broken, should they have changed anything prior to accepting them. It's a much better process than releasing half-baked rules and having us argue over them for months on end.
They released these proposed rules to the general public in an effort to see if there was anything that they had missed; to see if there was something that could lead to further abuse. They didn't find it. The response to all the changes were overwhelmingly positve. I know, I've seen the polls. Those who don't seem to like certain aspects are in a very vocal minority. I can't speak for all of the Battlemasters out there, but I know that I took my players' very thourough input and entered it exactly as they put it (You know that, Lao... I even put in that two players objected to shakeoff, but the rest thought it worked fine). So the overall concensus is that those changes are a step in the right direction. That doesn't mean that they are done making changes, or that everything's been addressed. But to call the playtest period a sham when it was exactly what the players wanted is just sour grapes. In reality, WK listened to our complants, addressed them with new rules, playtested thew hell out of those rules and decided that the community as a whole would find them to be a good thing. They were right. And you were correct in your statement that only in the case of EXTREME objection would they hold off, but isn't that how it should be? If the majority of the community likes the rules, doesn't that mean that WK has done their job?
Umm Whiz Kids has never playtested well half the time they completely ignore playtesrers complaints. They usually have everything set in stone before the playtesting even begins.

You have obviously not being paying much attention lately. Here, let me reiterate something for you...
The design team responsible for everything we've seen up to this point has been fired!!!
How is that relevant? Well, it looks like the new team is actually listening to the players? ::GASP:: Really? Does this mean we might see things like meaningful playtests, or fewer problem pieces?? It very well might... Oh my! If they start fixing things, what will I have to complain about?!?!? Fear not, you'll find something.
Bring on the 450/3 rules changes, the new "standard games" are excellent. From what I could gather the way Draddog was talking on the recent QandA thread- the 450/3 rules are a done deal.
I think the 450/3 rules changes are perfect and may be all the "fixing" the game needs to be really fun- espescially with the "King Kong" and "Godzilla" mechs CounterAssault is going to unleash.
I also think everybody should stop complaining and just enjoy playing- and if you can't just enjoy playing MWDA, quit.

Everything Berserk fury said is true. The word from REAL playtesters, which is what I assume you're not tony, is that of what Berserk spoke of. They wanted feedback after the figures have been designed and pressed.
So unless their policy changed and everyone on the face of the planet is unaware of it, Berserk is correct. So stop being a jerk.

Arcane drac is from lancer the 2nd set out and is 202 points
Marauder727 is correct 450 will be the official tournument size after Counter Assault is released. This has been said by Draddog on the Q&A thread. Plus it seems all those rule changes we playtested will be official rules in one form or another. Happy gaming and remember it is only a GAME.

Well, you know what happens when you assume anything. I know that this has been the case up to this point. My point is that things are changing. Keeping the same old grudges against the company, when in fact the people who were responsible for those grudges have been FIRED is just plain stupid. Why don't we wait and see what this new team does with feedback BEFORE we nail them to the cross.
What Berserk spoke of is the past. I am talking about the future.

Well said. I have heard that more changes are coming. WK management is not happy with the direction of the game and the CA expansion in particular. The direction is to move the game back towards its CBT roots. The proposed rule changes may be just the beginning.
I hope they move quickly on this. The time for calculated and cautious steps may be past us. There seems to be a lot of simmering resentment out there and its not getting any better. The proposed changes do make mechs a little better. But I fear it will just highlight other game deficiencies. Arnis, arnis and more arnis.
