As everyone has noticed there have been fewer events lined up for the next months. And it stinks. But I think it is because Wizkids wants to keep the Counterassualt set going, until the release of the next set.

I mean look at the Liao Expansion. It isnt until now are we actually seeing more Liao Set Prizes. During the time of Liao Incursion we saw them catch up on past prizes. Prizes like Micheala Freeman, Viki Drexel, Melva Golan, & Floyd Glass. Was it nice playing in four different types of tournements. But now that most of those prizes have been released, they are simply running out.

But my main point here is Wizkids has showed the prizes for February and they are the remaining Liao set pieces. January with the exception of the Marquee is Liao set. March is the First month where we see Counterassault campaigns. There are about 27 Le's about 9 of have already been shown. This leave's about 18 Le's left. If Wizkids continue their trend of how March works they will give out 4 CA prizes a month. Giving us 4-5 months of CA prizes. By that time it will be around June or July. And I believe this is when we will see the next set released.

Just my thoughts.

Lets see unreleased prizes (as in never available for winning, and only availble onve for FW prizes): Ric Raisho (FFE Centurion),
Krystn Shon (DFA Padilla), Kevin Nostra (DFA Zeus) Michelea Freeman (DFA Atlas), Kritosfee Erbe (DFA Thunderbolt- I really dont remeber seeing him ever!), Ion Murphy (Danai LI), Arturo Wolf (LI Uller), Carmen Hern (LI regulator), Franz Spitser (LI Condor)
5 Mechs, 4 vehicles.
And thats ignoring the fact that last year many prizes were offered twice. Wahab, the SS &DF infantry, James Odom,... and many more.
Even with thinning out the prizes for CA they could just offer them twice. 1 set of prizes for both Scenario games, 1 set for the sealed/HtH, thats still 4 weeks of prizes a month.
And Finally, while its all speculation, Im guessing late August for the next set, not June/July

they reuse prizes, they have done this before

So have more than one tournament where any given LE is the prize. That way some of the ebay madness will get toned down and we will not have to plan our lives around mechwarrior to have a chance at a piece that we want.

From what I hear, every BM signs and sends a W-4 to wizkids for the purpose of using their volunteer time and prize support as a tax write-off. So if they write it all off, what skin is it off their nose whether they support two or three events per month.

Not this year they've revamped it somewhat.
Also it had more to do with envoys being "independent contractors"-NOT EMPLOYEES of WK.
They used another method to make our work into a tax write-off :(
