This might sound stupid so try not to flame me too much here....
What is the big deal with the SS A4? why is everyone clamoring to gain these things? the stats are nice dont get me wrong...but what makes it so awesome? the cost? someone please inform me so i can think about if i really want to obtain these things or not. and like i said...please dont make me sound too ######ed.:)

It is because the SS A-4 is ludicrously accurate (you need a 5 to center dot a target), lays two AP pogs per order, has a range or 30 with a artillery minimum range of 8 with a solid firing arc, has heavy armor for a click, does not salvage until it takes 4 damage, and doesn’t lose any of it’s firepower or accuracy until it goes to salvage. Oh yeah it’s 51 points.

Basically for the points there is no more accurate and damaging arty piece in the game. It has a relatively long dial (for arty) and very stable stats. The many repair markers aren't much of an issue as the stats degrade very slowly.

Bottom line: for the cost these are probably the most efficient units in the game.
