This is the sad truth: Wizkidds isn't at blame for making cheesey units. Arnis was broken. That is true. SS arrow IV are broken.That is true. Many other units are broken. That is true. Nut we can't blame Wizkidds for this, Our willingness to use those units is to blame. If you have EVER used a ss Arrow IV, Arnis before charge fix, ss balac, etc. YOU are to blame. Even using it once gives people the feeling that to beat it, they must play it too. Can't beat 'em, join 'em. Cheese is contagious (that's a sig. keeper).

So let's start small. Repeat after me.

"I promise to never use a SS arrow IV in competitive play again."

We need to do something, other than blaming wizkids for our problems. Is anyone at all with me?

Of course, it helps that I don't have one and never use arty anyway...

I only play faction pure and SS is not one of my factions so sure. I do play Arnis with some of my SC armies but I rarely charge with him.

The only cheese unit I ever use is the Schmitt, and that's ONLY without a transport. I swore not to resort to those tactics a LONG time ago.

You are incorrect. Wizkids is responsible for the game being what it is. While the arrow iv's are one problem, not using them will only benifit the players skillful enough to have already purchased Krysten and Kenneth. So, you would have to increase your mantra by at least two units. Also, I am not sure if the artillery rules would still not be unbalanced, just back to the SH towed artillery and the SS towed AA artillery models.

And, it does nothing to address tank drop, or the fact that with the current artillery rules vehicles are in big trouble without tank drop.

And, it does nothing to address infiltrating armies getting to fire at into their opponent's DZ on the first turn, an issue on which WK has flip flopped this year.

Would you play Risk if the reinforcement rate was 100 armies per turn? No, and the author of the rules would be responsible. I don't see why WK should get off the hook so easily.

No matter what units they would make, some would ALWAYS be better than others, that is just a fact.

Use the alt-rules that are posted by warflail. They work good for my crew.

I have beat double SS A4 so I have . Also once I beat Liao A4 with a SS A4 in combo so to me its nothing really. Also I secret tactics I'm not willing to reveal when playing SC until we have our big dropship thing here.

Dude with all due respect i dont believe in the cheese of which you speak......ever wonder why the Atv and the Phoenix hawks were made.???? To provide a means of countering arty.....Arnis meet Yuri..... roll that 13. There are always ways to use multi roll units that will give a person the GOLDEN BALANCED ARMY!!!! that can take out arnis and ss arrow 4 forces any day......Ive done it and so can you.

Sometimes people to travel to Origins and Gencon. I've played guys from all over the world at those conventions. Watch the Germans. The Germans that I've played are really good.

I promise never to use more than 2 artillery vehicles in a game. I promose never ot use more than 2 vtols in a game. I promise never to use more than 2 tank/artillery drop/TAC drops in a game.

Engineer, I'm trying to get to origins... so would love to play vs 3 ss arrow 4 armies.... (we dont have a single ss arrow 4 in our area... several DF and LI ones though.

I'd also take you up on that, Engineer...if I were going. I've been
experimenting with artyless anti-arty armies. ;)
