Hail fellow House Liao players

Recent events have made me think about some things. I have decided to try and see if I can get some of my MechWarrior Collection insured as several neighbor’s apartments have been broken into in the last few weeks.

So to protect my investment ( not that I think they would know to steal MW:DA figures but incase of a fire ) I am going to get some renters insurance. I know just about how much all my normal items will cost to replace but seeing as MWRealms no longer shows a current price of a collection. I figured I would post what I have in my House Liao collection and see what others think it is worth.

Total = $640.00 not including sales tax..

So there you have it I put in the cost of the figures I have and how much they cost at a local game store that sells singles, not that they have any figures in stock most of the time. I know if I had a copy of Inquest or Scrye I could find most of these prices, but I don’t have one.

I would probrobly go with at least 30.00 for
Tolin Men , Clara Parks, and Jung Chae.

It's okay to insure high. Most everyone does.

insurance companies make money when you dont need ot use it. but they aslo make money by taking your money and investing it to make a lot more, then giving you the leftover scraps.

I woudl talk to an agent and ask them what kind of information they need in order for your collectables to be properly insured.

Dude, Be VERY careful. I lost my house in the October Cedar fire. My insurance agent laughed in my face when I presented the list of figures that turned into air polution and the going rates of replacement.
Most renter's insurance policies have exclusions for sports cards these days. That's how they'll try to get over on you. My attourney said that you should always remember that unless it's specifically excuded by your policy, you are covered for it's replacement. (Yes, I am going to the Insurance Board about Farmer's refusal to replace my collection. Eight and a half grand is nothing to laugh at. Note: They covered my wife's antique glass collection without batting an eye. It was worth almost exactly the same amount.)
Never insure with Allstate, (They bribed 85 engineers to lie UNDER OATH about the earthquake damage in the San Fernando Quake. The engineers lost their licenses, Allstate got away clean.) or State Farm. (They spent millions on advertising to defeat regulation, and underinsured all of the people in the Scripps Ranch area. Now they don't have enough to rebuild. And these are Doctors and Attourneys! They appear to think all people are too stupid to read. Some are.)
Just some free advice from someone who has become WAY too educated about the state condoned extorsion that is modern insurance...
(further Note: If this sounds inflamitory, (sorry about the pun,) it's ment to. These facts are public record. Just don't ask your insurance company. Ask the victims of the Oakland fires. They are STILL in litigation. Total loss is a statistical rarity in the business. They have a policy of trying to outlive the victims of these catastrophies rather than pay them.)

@ corrosion, Sorry to hear about your collection going up in smoke... I had two family members get evacuated during the fires... thanks for the addvice I might just see if I can make sure that it is added to my insurance policy...

Do you play at a venue? if so where and what one? If you got the time you should try our little venue in Vista called pair a dice games. just a bunch of guys haveing fun and playing games... we have just started a Solaris VII game and did a Dropship game 2 weeks ago... So come on by
