At some point I imagine we'll see a new Faction Wars for MWDA, sooner as opposed to later would be good, and might bring some folks back to the table. Since every battle can't be over a mech factory I was thinking: what the reward for this fight?

What if the winning Faction got to have one of the Losing Faction's Mechs?

Say each Faction antes up a 'Faction Commander' for the event. The Highest ranked faction would get the lowest ranked faction's commander's mech. It would be part of a future set, repainted in the new colors and given a new pilot (tweak the stats slightly). The old 'losing' version would be retired early to signify its battle loss.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Not a bad idea I think. Just get WK to go along with it. (Like they ever listen to the players really.)

Right now they're doing an FW for Mage Knight. I expect they're busy, and so won't be getting on to any bug events for MW, probably until the next Base Set in about a year.

Actually, I have a feeling that we'll see another Faction Wars in the near future once Falcon's Prey gets released. If the Falcons are poking their heads into the Republic, be ####ed if they aren't going to make a bid for Terra, and that alone is worthy of another round of Faction Wars.

Run unrestricted Faction Wars at your local venue..... We do some sort of FW every couple of months, always pure plus mercenaries, and occasionally with some sort of interesting twist. Players love the attrition rules and the big armies, it is always the biggest of our venue supported games.

A Faction War for Terra, how would that work? Some Factions wouldn't have much to do with the matter. HL, RotS and maybe SS, SC, SH and DF would want JF to keep their pointy chicken-feet off Terra, but where would SW and BR fall? BR probably wouldn't care either way, and the JF are gunning for SW alongside, so if they went at it, they'd kill each other first.

How about Terra this time? Or a battle for A Mad Cat(Timber Wolf) Factory on Huntress? <_< Or a Battle over a dropship Plant....>_> ware the Winning faction would get a Special Dropship That would be Available for 40$ Like MK Dragons?

Terra's got a lot of old arms factories on planet, of which I'm sure the Republic's kept going. So I can't see all the factions leaving Terra out of the picture. Could also always have the faction war over an old Star League Castle Brian. Those things were jam packed full of weapons and equipment. Winner gets the first Highlander?

how about another faction war where the winner gets a cache of star league special eqipment to augment new mechs lol like say liao one, and another shen yi comes out its stats could be jacked up because of the new tech

nah, liao will come in first, and of course somefaction will end up getting their dumpy. Wow. too complex. Just have the winne get a mech and loser faction get eliminated (still legal in tourneys, just no more new figures and storylines for them)

Note that any suggestion for a Faction War prize would have to be something that only one faction can use, and doesn't want ANY other faction to get. It has to be balanced so that it isn't likely that several factions would team up just to make sure one particular faction (say Jade Falcons) doesn't get it.

How about a Tank/Automotive Command Center? Winner gets an LE Demolisher II. That way the winning Faction gets something and WK can release it later (or sooner- to the winners anguish).

If current gameplay is any indicator, the prize will be the end-all be-all nuclear artillery piece. 1 pog to rule them all.
