Well here you go I think the BTech universe we know is dead...to be replaced soon with the Xbox world...mech forcefeilds, cloaking tanks, and other pure Dross headed your way!!!
I'm sure we'll get the rules for it in MW:DA soon enough...hey and they cloak the aircraft carrying them...it's a whole new tank drop folks!!!
ok I was willing to forgive the Null- Sig thing, but cloaking tanks now. For christ sake in the CBT master rulebook it said the mimetic armor used in purifiers and Dest Sneak suits could not be practicaly applied to Tanks and Mechs. Please Tell me Microsoft What the HELL are you thinking
Another way for Bill to make money by COMPLETELY killing another game. Funny. The only reason so many Xboxes have been sold is because of Halo and Halo 2!
I can see the possibility of a cloaking infantry, but a cloaking tank??!? Then you have a cloaking Garrot with a Cloaking DI Schimit. Or a cloaked Maxim with a DI Schimit.
Is there anything in the Battletech universe that allows a tank or mech to cloak? Be it lostech or new clan tech?

My reasoning for the lasers curvng. Lasers Move at the speed of light because well they are... compressed light. They are also inherintly invisible unless a solid material(like talcum powder) intercepts the beam. what you are seeing is not a solidified beam, but the end light of the laser bouncing off the solid particles of the powder.
The Curving beam effect I justify as an electronicily created "traceer round" alowing the pilot to track and adjust aim for the next time he/she fires. In fiction it was stated that the Mechs targeting computer did this any way. besides, it just plain looks cool.
as for the guy who said that technology advances deal with it. The mimetic armor Technology was perfected for battle armor application in 3059. If one considers that Mech assault takes place before the WOB Jihad in 3067, then that leaves less then 8 years for the technology to be adapted to larger machines of war. That kind of time frame may be suitable for a concept, but not a production moodel. There fore i repeat to Microsoft "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING"
By Virtue of the Fact that it follows Mechassaut, wich had the WOB in it. On top of that , many magazine articles I have read say things like, and I am paraphraseing,
"The new combat features allow you to really kick some Blake tail"

Which leads me to believe that it is during the Jihad, not before. Mimetic armor could have been adapted to tanks in that conflict.
