Do you collect entire sets, or do you just pick certain mechs, or certain factions or what?

What is it you collect?

I pretty much stick with trying to get all of my RoTS pieces, after that, there are certain mechs I go after. Usually the classic ones like the Zeus, Atlas, Catapult, Thor, ect...you know those mechs that have made it thru every Mech game out there from the video games and books to CBT and MWDA

I buy a case with 2 mates, get 16 boosters each and trade for the HL and SW units.

Because i repaint all my MW, I buy some of the more interesting unique mechs off ebay that I want the challenge of painting - e.g Hasbani, Tolek. needless to say i will have 1 Shrike, 1 Gyrfalcon and 1 Eyrie too. hats off to bonilla - they look awesome.

I work to collect the full set of figures for my favorite faction and then I may work for all of a particular sculpt: all Mad Cats, or all Black Knights. Otherwise, in secondary factions enough pieces to field a decent force is enough.

I collect all liao stuff and i'm starting to bag highlander units

All SS, RotS, KotS, and soon JF units. Always try to pick up Mercs to fill some holes in my armies.

Since both myself and my gf are Battlemasters, we try to collect everything, so that if a player needs to borrow an army, we have the pieces available.

That being said, we do have our favorites. For instance, she tries to collect SH and SC, and will collect JF, while I collect SS, Liao, and SF when they come out.

i just started playing earlier this year. my friends suggested House Liao, as it was the newer faction, and might not be too hard to collect pieces so that i could play. 4-5 months later, i dont have every unit with house liao colors, but i do have most. I've also picked up some Mercenary units, with a smattering from some of the other factions.

Since Falcon's prey is coming out soon, that will most likely be my next faction to collect. trying to collect some of the older factions would cost quite a pretty penny i'm afraid, the newer ones might not be so expensive.

i have all liao figs,all rots figs, all sc figs and most of dragons fury. other faction i have stuff from them i like or good pieces. IE stephie OEJ all the zueses ect.

I collect only Spirit Cats and Republic Of The Sphere. And no, I never mix them in play!

i collect: Mercs, Dragons'Fury, and when they come out i will be atempting to collect Jade Falcon as well.

aside from that? because i am an avid Classic Battletech player, and my group has found a means to use the MW-DA mini's in our play.. i try to have two of any given sculpt, more if it is a common and well known sculpt such as the Summoner/Thor, Timberwolf/Madcat, Zeus, Atlas, ECT...

currently, until the new set comes out i have 100% of the nons for my collected factions (exception being jade falcon), i am missing 6 of the Un/Le mercs, and at present only 1 DF... d@amn it i need to find a way to get my hands on Gunsho Kato (LE Giggins) that isn't going to cost me an arm, a leg, a kiddney, my spleen and the soul of my first and second born children

Aren't the MWDA miniatures a little bit too big to fit into the standard CBT hex fields?

I collect primarily Highlanders (big surprise, eh?), am working on getting a full set of RotS and have a good number of Mercs.

I need only 1 figure to complete my Highlanders and hope to win Rotem next Thursday! Woo!

I'm splitting a case of FP with a friend, so I hope to get most of my units from there and just have to trade for a few more! (PLEASE let the LE Thor be in that case, PLEASE!)

I have gone in cycles. Early on we kind of each picked a faction and would trade around so that we could have pretty complete set for our faction (mine is Highlanders). Then I noticed that through buying packs I was getting close to a complete set of Dark Age and FFE, so I started trying to fill gaps to get all of everything. As I got really close, 1-2 units, I realized that being a completist wasn't making me happy, and was expensive so I gave that up. Now I usually buy singles or single faction lots off of eBay, since the game store here is a GW shop only. I try to get Highlanders, SC, and Liao.

In the past year and a half, I've sold about a 1,000 figures. I keep trying to get myself down to only owning 500 pieces of "the most playable" SS, SH, ROTS and DF (with Liao for my wife), but I can't seem to get the collection under 1,000 pieces in my up-to-date BattlePlanner list. I usually have about 100 - 300 pieces in the eBay bins too.

For example, I've tried to own zero Bannson's, really, I've tried; but I seem to hold on to the "uber" or most versatile units from even the factions I don't collect (One-Eyed, Bart and Stefani, for example).

I do collect the Zeus, Mad Cat series, and Atlas figures, regardless of faction. Other than those, I try to get rid of stuff I won't ever use. I think I need professional help.

when buying i usually split a case with 2-3 others, we dump all the figures in a pile and we draft them. we all ways get the same number of uniques, same number of mech, ect... we all agree to pull from our chosen factions first, then from other factions, this way we have minimal fights on fig.. usually over 1 or 2 mercs, and we get virtually everything we need.

make sure all the people in your group play different factions.

after that I've got 5 of each DF inf, 2 of each DF veh, 1 ofeach mech, 1 of each LE/unique DF, plus a few choice mercs.
