So I was wrong or the next set after FI does not not cause ritirement to LI or CA.
Well this means we are still not really worth times or take too much time. We will lose players again if this is true. We lost player do to too many sets at first now we are losing players do to not enough sets or new peices.Plus retirement chased away guys too. This game either going to change marketing or die.
Next heres some news about the Recruitment war. Nova Cats will be in that set anyhow with at least 4 mechs. If that is the next set after FI.

I don't think Wizkids has confirmed anything beyond saying Firepower is due for release in May. It is far too early for them to mention anything about the set after firepower. They haven't even started marketing Firepower in earnest yet. Just a few blurbs and promo mechs. I would wait until there is an official announcement before getting upset, and that is likely still several months off at a minimum.
BS, there will be one more set in between Fi and the january 2006 set, I guess around august as usual. This has been confirmed as early as the AoD-announcement-chat!
Come on Elf2, read the article fully. Which part of this made you leap to your conclusion no more sets til January? Is it the emboldened part perhaps? :)

These sets, plus any additional 2005 releases, will retain their tournament legal status until January, 2006, when the second half of the Age of Destruction rotation will begin.
thanks on second there is something I missed. Yes any Additional releases made 2005 can be play with. So janaury is just the new big set then. I'm just thankful Trover did read this page.
Now wait a goshdarn second! According to Elf2's Catch-22 logic this game lost players because of too many sets appearing in a given timeset & now the game is losing players because of too few sets appearing in a given timeset? Sounds like a lose-lose situation to me.
Looks like Elf2 just loves to be permanently disgruntled about the game.
I don't think we'll ever lose some players when the Jan'06 retirement hits.
The reasons?
a) Most of those who remained fully accepts retirement as a fact of life.
b) Most of the newer ones are fully aware about retirement.
c) Most of those who came back after being disgruntled with the retirement are fully aware about retirements.
The only reason why there were so many who jumped the boat previously because they feel betrayed by WK. They hoarded units which they think they could pass on to their grandchildren and still tournament-legal, why a lot of players even compulsively collect at least 1 piece of every unit there is.
But here is one fact and I'm not being disgruntled in any way. MW sales will never be the same as how it was before the retirement plans were brought out in the open. People will most likely get only units they need or want, and will not compulsively collect at least 1 piece of unit there is just for the sake of having one.
BTW, on the subject proper. Yes, there will be a third expansion for this year sometime around October and Ghost Bear Dominion will finally be introduced.
This is Offtopic but relates to the "3rd" set. As of Now even though CJF is new, they got a lot of lovin in their first Set, and decent ok Lovin in AoD, and good Lovin in FP. Now do you think they will get Shafted in the "3rd" set?
it is possible, but i doubt it for this reason. CJF is basically the only faction mind DF who is completly alone, no alliance, no Merc Cards, and all Gunslingers have high Recruit costs for them to play. Also since CJF is a major player and im sure by that time in October there will be another book about them continuing their Onslaught with the RHD invading, not co operating with the Falcons but still a lot of action in that area of the Rep.
So for Fluff, and gameplay reasons i do not think JF will get shafted and will be a special faction that gets medium love in every set with the exeption of FP.
What you mates think?
and yes i know this is out of nowhere and yes i am JFcentric.
That Was not off topic at all we at talking about the next set after FI and so are you. Well Look at Liao we got three sets and got shafted now twice but they have not lost a peice yet. Heres something big I think next After FI is has these factions in it: SC/NC, SW/CW, SF, HS/SH, Liao, GB/RD or Comstar, and JF
WK has learned that when they pump out set after set every three months they start selling less because they are bleeding their player-base dry of cash reserves. They plan on releasing FI and then at least 1 more expansion before the end of the year. But because they are shooting the expansions out rather rapidly they are partially making up for it by making those releases rather small sets so that it's easier to get a full set from a case and so players don't have to buy quite so much (and thus will hopefully have some cash on hand for when the next set releases). Or at least ... that's one possible logic behind it but it's actually not a bad idea.
If WK had not introduced the concept of Gunslingers I would probably never buy another case ever again. It just doesn't make sense to shell out a few hundred when it's likely you will only be able to use 10% of the figures in the case cause that's the % of the figures from your faction (and even out of that 10% you can only use a fraction of it because some pieces just aren't too useful). But since Gunslingers are useful to just about every faction I might actually consider getting a case per expansion again because now at least a good number of mechs (and cards) will actually be useful regardless of which factions (and how many) I play.
@StormRaider. I would not be surprised to see at least a few people drop out in Jan. depending on how WK handles a few factions. Liao has gotten zilch from AOD and will get nothing from FI. If WK decides to axe the faction entirely after that you might see some fanatical LI players drop the game because they lost their favorite faction. Heck. Even if WK doesn't retire the Liao faction ... they will be losing so many of their key pieces once LI and CA retire that the faction as a whole may no longer be playable unless they get a HUGE shot in the arm to bolster their forces.
I completely agree with you. Retirement aside, dropping out of faction would definitely hurt a lot of faction purist players, including me. Though I do have RoTS as a viable option, I would not take that path. If I wanted RoTS then would have picked RoTS the when they were released. This is just another case where WK shoves stuff down the player throat, and proclaim, "take this bitter pill, it's good for the game". And I have this attitude problem about people telling me what to do. :p
As for the releases, I believe the WK is going to release expansions every 4 months with the first being the biggest and followed by two smaller sets. But the more factions introduced, the lesser units each faction gets and it's becoming more pound-foolish to spend $350 on a case which will only be usable for 2 years at most.
