You take all the A & H you want.
I've mostly played L & M since FFE. It's all how you play.
Just ask the 9 M,H, and A my light Mech ripped though in last weeks unrestricted.
I'm more the kind of player who will try out anything. Three light 'Mechs, one assault 'Mech with a light 'Mech, one medium 'Mech with two light 'Mechs, one heavy 'Mech with one or two light 'Mechs or just a single 'Mech of any weight class. It must be said that when I only field one 'Mech, it's usually a heavy or assault class 'Mech.
ok heres an armie for review (600 points) e.o.d w/his own pilot and coolant pod x-asis w/pilot and highlander urza w/phoung trahn (prowler's pilot) and last IT DONT MATTER IF I WIN OR NOT I PICK A TARGET AND KILL IT!!!! is this army good?
Well, an opponent who invested a percentage of his points into fast basers can seriously hinder your army, giving him the freedom to move around and getting a few shots in before you get the chance to return the favor. More important is if it's fun for you to play that army. If so, go for it!
some of what you play has to do with your style of play and how you play best.
I know people here that are great with tank formations but play #### when they use a mech. some of your play style has to go into the build, the more comfortable and confident you feel the better your going to play.
I personally would rather play two or more smaller mechs then to play one huge one but thats me and how I like to play.
Yes I know several players that play the big mechs well. Might be because I tend to play the smaller lighter stuff. They know if they don't play agressively, I'll make them pay for it later when they have to vent heat.
Most people just depend on the specials and unique figures to win the game without help. I do play some of the better ones when they first come out, but then revert to my little stuff when I'm done. This usually gives me an idea of how strong a new unit is and also how best to kill it.
There are a few heavies I would use frequently, but once the point value gets near 300, I'm reluctant to commit to it.
IT DONT MATTER IF I WIN OR NOT I PICK A TARGET AND KILL IT!!!!
is this army good?
Not a clue, but if you ask me who I'd enjoy playing against more than anyone on planet Earth, it'd have to be you.
Nothing like another crazy bastard who likely prepares a huge Yu-Gi-Oh style speech before each order about how the entire map will be theirs in 2 turns.
Me personaly I think no mech can really do much on its own against a rival that has a mix of other mechs, and Tanks, a single mech can reak havoc on a bunch of Infantry, but eh thats me, I have a good mix army of Infantry and mechs and Tanks, I usualy send in the tanks first :-D HAH! :devious:
I used to think the same way when I first started out. Pplay my biggest baddest mechs thinking you'll blow everything esle up. The sad truth is, your heat dials can't keep up to oncoming swarms. i.e infantry formation, tank drop, mechs, etc... After losing my first couple of matches, I've come to realize how valuable support really is.
ok i said:it dont matter if i win or not i pick a target and kill it! i alpha striked a shiro w/e.o.d w/coolant pod so it was hurtin for 9 then i finished it off with 'rooster' raptor 2
