Like his big brother the Scorpem Gunner, the SC has two clicks of Bound at 5". He has the same 4 clicks of 15 Defense, but with one less click of BA. He has slightly lower attack values, for lower damage. What he offers is low cost: the Tough SC is 4 points less than the Weak SG while offering more range and better attack values, so he will fit where other more powerful units won't. If you're looking for a cheap Bound figure for harrassment duty here's a good choice.

Have you ever used him?I used a blue one twice......the first time with wonderful attacks...I killed a leech medic and a hurt khamsin fuser....however,the second time he proved to be a total incompetent.....I wouldn´t think of him as a reliable option.:o

i dont know about this one, there are just better choices for 39 points. sure, effective 15" range is nice, but for 39 points his attack values are very low. your not going to hit much, except for anythin called khamsin or small healers (as mentioned), which can be taken care of by figs with half the point cost.

also, like you said, their point cost i nottoo far from the scorpem gunners, so they immediately are over looked.

...won't try to argue that this is a premium warrior. The Gunner is stronger and not a lot more points, but what if you don't have the points? Or don't have a Gunner? The Weak Gunner, with an 8" range and an 8 attack, is 4 points more than the Tough Crossbowman, who has a 10" range and a 9 attack. Granted, it's for 2 damage not 3, but still...The Crossbowman is playable as a mobile harrasser, much as you would use a Gunner. Not as potent, but playable. Again, the point of these posts is to elicit discussion on playing some of the less popular pieces.

...if what you're doing is killing off the biggie's support then a piece that does that well is invaluable, isn't it?

He's right, if you bound and then get in a position where the "biggies" own support is blocking his fire, your in good shape. Plus, I don't think many people use the *scorp. gunner... at least blue and most likely red, and those point values are pretty far above the crossbowman.

Understand... yellow gunner is not exceedingly effective except against something khasmali or small healers...

Good post. The cost factor can really make this warrior interesting for people that cannot afford the Scorpem or just dont have it.
