Now I like this army and the figures involved. The trouble is I'm having a difficult time figuring out terrain to use as well as some strategies to make it competitive.
Any thoughts or suggestions you may have would be appreciated.
I've also been trying to make a Hitash army. I was thinking more of levving him with a rammer. I don't like the gunslinger or the stalkers really, I'd add a swarm formation.
lose the imp and some how (magic?!) get a range figure - than you would have a "six shooter"
...sorry, this is me being unhelpful......
Actually....I think you have it correct with low walls. That gives cover to the Stalkers and will slow the incoming army down a bit (where Hitash can play Body Guard)
I've been playing around in my head, trying to come up with a good "short ranged" army.. so far without success, but I feel I'm getting close. My theory is, if you don't have a range of 12, you may as well just have a range of 4-6..
I tend to think of this army as a melee swarm, with a little range to combat other melee swarms. Okay, so maybe it's not really, really fast, but with enough harrassment, I may be able to make it work.
I think I'll lose the Gunslinger and throw in another *Nightstalker. I'll also modify my harrassment a bit:
The Nightstalkers move in formation, and the rest move as loners. The whole army can move in 2 turns. Terrain will be all hindering. Should have enough harrassment/blockers to cover me when crossing open terrain...
drop an imp down to yellow, then switch your nightstalkers to 3 red ones. The fact of the matter is that yellow is way too glassjawed to hold its ground in a standup fight, good for first two clicks but then useless. Granted you can offset that slightly with the mass numbers you have but your still going to get burned when they go up against anything, your looking at one dropping out of the fight pretty much everytime one gets hit.
This way I have the same number of harrassers, and the Imps can take single points of damage while remaining effective. The whole army can still move in 2 turns...
just a thought
If you drop down hitash levet to lv 3 it frees up 30 pts
then you can add a healer mabey a 2nd lv barber hugg
that gives you a healer and Me for the night stalkers
4 pts left then you could up grade to 2 blue shades or a shade and a mancather
just my thought i do like the army
later boomstick
With MI, the Faith Healer would be tough to hit when behind a wall of Nightstalkers using Stealth and hindering terrain. Using a healer with ME won't be too useful with only a 6 range though...
True, but I would keep him in close formation with the Stalkers, healing whenever the opportunity arose. Healing doesn't really work well with melee swarm (essentially what this army is), and I probably won't use it with a 6 range version. I'll probably stick with:
I think you should put the Fanged Gunslinger back on,he is the ultimate 6 range figure! And if you upgrade him a little you could put one of those multiple 6 range Fanged G´s...
