with conquest out now I plan on using my Fist of Tezla more, but none of my friends will play me if I use it because they say it is unstoppable, I have tried to show them you can kill it, but even I am not doing a very good job, I can kill it, it just takes forever and uses all my actions making it hard to win the battle. So, can anyone give me a few tips on taking down tanks, so I can share them with my friends.
From what i have seen the best way to kill the tanks using conquest rules is to swarm it with multiple cheap melee figures. Yes you will lose some but when you formation attack with 5 guys you get +4 attack and +4 damage. Since most melee guys do 2 or 3 damage as their base they can deal 6-7 with a formation attack. A formation of blade golems or fighting automatons will rip a fist of tezla apart if used properly.
Not in conquest. In conquest you can have 3-10 figures in a movement formation, and I believe 2-5 figs in a close combat formation where each contributor adds +1 to attack and +1 to damage.
Yeah its 2-5 in melee with up to 10 in a movement formation. In the melee formation the base attacker gets +1 to hit and +1 to damage. Get 5 guys in there, say use weapon master and all of a sudden you smack a portion of the tank for 5-10 damage!
Thats how you take down a tank! Also creative use of terrain and fodder works well, limit where it can move until you get in position and then take your shot at it. Range formations are good as well, a formation of 5 Troll Arties needing a very low to hit number and doing 8 damage will hurt it very nicely.
Corrupted, you forget that most titans dont have the attack vale to crack the heavily armored tanks (18 with Invul)
The key to beating MFD, is useing what i call Nutcrakcers. Figures that can at least damage the big stuff, to allow the smaller guys a fighting chance. figures with peice or shockwave are good chociues, also many uniques can do the job also.
Yes, even a goblin horde can take down dragons... but usually you need to wait until the 2 or 3rd wave :)
