The main force from this army is off course the Pyre spirit. His great mobility and his excellent defense coupled with the right SA’s makes it a very difficult figure to counter, especially in a 200 pt format. Having already spent 87 points on a single figure, I skipped formations and chose 3 loners to accompany him. A Fell reaper can neutralize any auto damage unit up to 14” away, the lancers act as bodyguards. Besides that, these three figures are al descent fighters themselves; they can do their share of the damage dealing.
Looks very interesting. The only thing I see is it is a little vulnverable to strong bounders. Without a healer three clicks before you get to charge hurts a lot.
msstorch: witch bounders did you have in mind? The Pyre has 19 defense, the lancers have 18; a scarabet, avante reaver or striker (in his bound clicks) have at best a 50% chance to hit them. The fell reaper of course has a low defense, but his great mobilty should keep him out trouble (bounders can outrange him, but they have to possition close).
The thing a realy fear for this army is a bunch of auto damage units (i.e. more than the reaper can handle).
Better watch out for rammers specially with tougness, e.g. War Impaler. It could beat the hell of the pyre quite easy. But overall, its a great army for 200 pts. Nice job for the pyre spirit.
