Strategy:
Standard Swarm. Solonavi formation attmeps to get to the tower before its too well defended. Esa starts at the back edge of the battlefield to ensure that I don't lose because my ME/ML is knocked out. Taskmaster adds cheap command. Easy stuff.
Dedlokk, Looks like a sweet AG swarm army for Conquest. However I think it is a little weak for the scenario.
First off, with only one ME figure (who only has it for one click, so he can't push), if I were playing you it would be my 1200pts vs. the apprentice. I would ignore everything in the way and take him down (note: a similar strategy is going to be employed with weekend when I decimate the BPRs tower).
Second, your melee formations are a little slow. The tower alone should get at least one shot off, and artillery would put some serious hurt on the bladesmen (explosive damage bad).
Formation 5 just seems to want to havea techno there to get the blades in faster.
The solonavi formation looks sweet. I would be scared with that on the other side.
Similar to the point about formation 5, though, the creator just seems more suited to the scenario backed up with 3 technos to get her to the tower to smack it around a little. If you play the alternate tower that can be a 2 turn game, if you can roll a 7 on two dice.
Almost forgot, you said you wanted to get the Solonavi to the tower before it was too well defended. It starts off in the BPR player's starting area, it should be well-defended from the first turn.
Good for you!:) It good to see conquest melee armies. But melee sucks for this scenario because it will be hard to get around the walls and other terrain.
But the strategy still stands. Fast movers can get up to the tower faster and wreak havoc. A hitwith all three figures will nearly destroy the tower, leaving it in its 15 defense/7 attack/1 damage click. I am thinking about adding a Destroyer to the formation to add a little more potential speed and hurt. Who wouldn't be intimidated by 500 Points of Solonavi bearing down on them?
Also, the rules state that all figures must start at LEAST 30 inches from the center dot of the tower. I plan on starting the ESA at the back edge of the board, which will pretty much keep him out of harms way unless someone plays like 6 Technos and a rammer.
Even if they run a fast Rammer, chances are that it will take them too long to catch the ESA anyway.
3 technos and a striker starting in front of tower can get to your surok early(maybe turn1 since defenders go first) leaving the magus as prime target 2 an enhanced formation in the hindering might put a big hurt on one solonavi causing you to leave or stop and heal(not wise) army looks risky with just 2 figs for them to knock out ---- enemy can start about 45-50 inches from your table edge with some of their army YOU have to be 30 from tower not each other at the start
