has anybody good ideas about building an army against GFD ? I do not have a lot of figs but a nice collection though. I also have the siege pack with stonethrower, mortar, ...

We agreed on an army with 1200 points and 3 or 4 actions.

Suggestions on strategy ?

depends on how he plays the dragon

if he plays it as an anceit hes gonna get wasted by a HOST and a morter

make sure to take out the wings early and the dragon becomes chump change. careful terrain placement can also limit its mobility

It is essential to have high speed and high ended ranged to counter GFD... And Since you said 1,200... only 3 action without command... with command (auto plsu one) 4.. so if GFD is without a commander then you have a slight advantage... Just concerate on his head, no matter how scary it is... Once you take care of the head.. It will render itself USELESS! Chargers and high ended range or damage figure will take care of the rest.... I have successfully killed GFD in less than 4 turns using total army of 250 pts or less.... If you don't hurt the head at all... Then he will be a b***h to kill off. Ideal harrasing (bonetoss) or ideal charger (Orc Captian or such) Arcane? Mini-death star on him!!!! RIsky but fun!

Ive taken down an anctiet GFDQuite easily with a death star type army (magus w/4 weak demi, 2 tough demi in front to tandem atk for 10 atk) and then a couple of shades and imps to get in the way. My first magic blast on the head was a 5, with 6 enhancers, for 11 dmg. Ahhhh, sweetness:cool:
