ok, my turn with an army for week 3.
this will be only my second tourney(pretty much got my head handed to me in week 1, but hey, it was dungeons)so im a little nervous. am open to any comments or suggestions.
reaper and banshee will be my main attackers. wyvern and hawklord will pick on people with venom and magicblast respectively. bloodsucker will pick off the wounded and dying. while priest heals as needed.
this comes out to 276 points. leaving me with 24points to do something with. wanted to stick with all fliers, and thought venom and MB would be helpful. not sure if i should try to pick someone else up or just upgrade the priest?
why not use a bigger figure with flight and range like techun, striker or WM. The bloodsucker wont help a ton. The corrupted priest isnt nescessary really. Jorams alright but u could do better for his points and the wyvern may have trouble.
Range is important in this scenario. Yes there is the hindering effect and lots of stealth but for those that dont have it.... well they take twice as many shots from range.
a *Ki Devil or *Woodland Sniper. The Ki Devil flys and has Shockwave, while the Woodland Scout has stealth and a ranged attack. I would probably go with the Ki Devil. Of course this gives you the same problem I had with an earlier version of my army 7 figures and 3 actions per turn. If you made the *Corrupted Priest a ***one you would have 11 points left over.
270 points so far, leaving 30 points to satisfy the 3 necro minimum
was thinking a red nightstalker - 30 pts or a yellow bloodsucker, to stick with the all fliers theme, and i think they are 26 for the feral and 28 for the rancid ??
once again, i really appreciate any and all input from all you more experienced people out there. thanks, and please, keep 'em coming., its still a couple a days till the tourney on sat.
That venom is a threat your opponent can't ignore for long, and if you time it right, you can base him while he's pushed, deal an automatic click without ever lifting a dice, then decide if you want to push and hit the thing again.
Just be wary of toughness and be sure to strip the figure you're basing of it before engaging.
Bloodsuckers in general are pick off units, and the Rancid is my favorite kind. No iffy 1d6 roll for damage, and an automatic click.
