I have 2 possible armies that I could use. Which do you guys think is better?
KI "swarm"
----------------
4 **E@A's 72
**Infantry Captain 23
Pyre Spirit 87
2 *Goblin Volunteers 10
Podo 3
*Imp 5
200 points
The swarm moves in after the biggest figure while the Pyre Spirit goes for support figures, then helps the elfs. The volunteers and imp dont help much because they are too slow to keep up with the KI or Pyre, so I'm thinking about removing them for a healer for the Pyre.
Both move up together, but when they get close one of the Golems levitates up to prevent anyone from getting shot, especially the very fragile Utems.
Which do you guys think is better. I'm kinda leaning towards the AG, because I've levitated golems before and it did wonderfully, plus I love the one Utem that I repainted (a better gold, plus his face is a light blue so he looks like an alien, and he has glowing red eyes and a blond mohawk.)
I like the AG army better. I feel like the KI swarm is 'done', even though your build spices things up with with the Pyre.
The one thing I'd do is instead of having a Blade formation and a Utem formation, mix them up. I think you'll find that the Utems work better adding formation weight to the Blades then on their own.
I think swarm, in general, is "done" as Maat put it. That said, I really like you KI version a lot more. The AG army would get eaten by a solid range army. I know that a very similar army took the Las Vegas Championship, but that was before the Solonavi and 14" range. Yeah, it's still strong, but I think the KI have a few advantages here.
First, the 12" FM makes a ton of difference. The two inces can get you into base wioth the entire squad vs. fligning a single blade golem.
Second, the Pyre spirit adds a good bit of versatility. You can use him to pick off figures with tokens on them, soften up the big heavies, or just go around killing guys.

First I would like to know what sort of army you play.
Have you played a KI swarm or a KI swarm charge? I wonder where you get your basis for your comments.
How many KI players are there in your area?
And how many of those players are dedicated KI players?..meaning GOOD players who know their figs well and know how to play them smart.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Here's mine:
I think I've had enough of people like you underestimating KI.
That goes to those who make uninitiated comment against the KI army.
"D-E-A-D."
"They're done..."
I say put your figs where your mouth is.

RE: KI or AG.
rockmanx, I won't tell you what army to play. Go KI or AG, doesn't really matter -- it boils down to what army you really like and which one you think you'll be good at I guess.
I was not saying KI swarm is 'done' as in, no longer viable, but 'done' as in played to death. If my only concern was winning, I'd pick KI swarm over AG swarm any day. However, I like seeing new and different on the table, such as KI swarm with a Pyre. (Granted, if all we cared about was winning, all we'd play is Frostriven/chariot, HOST wank, Striker wank, and soon-to-be Corpheus wank.)
I play in a group with solid, creative players. Our opinion is that KI swarm is established as an army type, and we have moved onto other things.
You are right, everyone is entitled to their opinion. You however, are not entitled to make comments about 'people like me' without taking the time to realize that 'we' have no arguement with you.
rockmanx go to battle plans, search for a thread called army challenge number 1......... the thread is by borg and the entire point is AG melee. If you want something 'fresh' and challenging go for AG swarm, however change your amry as it will get eaten alive by ranged armies. If you want to fling golems, have more then one techno cause he will get overworked and will loose ML.
It's the wave of the future. Fast moving Necro forces with quickness so they don't need to be in formation (which would make them vulnerable to F/L and OST). Just a few more figures and it'll happen...
The swarm in my opinion was killed by figures like corpheus, striker stormy and others. The age of swarms is over. With that in mind the KI is better. The AG is just too slow to take out the newwer armies.
AG swarm is lots of fun, but it needs more than Technomancer for support. You are best to move with Battle Armor figs (I suggest ***Fighting Automatons, * and ** Blade Golems, and maybe one or two ***Altem Guardsman - if you can spare the points). You then need a few harassers to deal with certain figs - mainly healers and necromancers. I suggest * or **Shade and ***Scorpem Gunner. Yeah, I know, the Scorpem is 47 points, so he doesn't work as well in 200 as 300. Utem Guardsman I have found are most effective in two formations of 3 each, surrounding a given fig completely, though mixing in one or two with a Blade Golem formation is an added "Oomph".
