ok i know this is cheesy but it works, i killed a tourmentor in 1 turn!!!!
ok its also a death star.
formation 1
* deep wood sentenial
** deep wood X2
eye of the death star:
Amazon queen
formation 2
3 ** shamens
loners:
thunder doom troll
imps and shades
so heres the tactic, i place a forest infront of my starting area and move the death star into the forest the deep woods are in front with pole arm and limeted invisability. the amazon queen is in the middle, and the shamens are in the back. the troll stays on the side with the shades and imps.
like i said i took out a tourmentor with one hit. i rolled a critical hit and a six on the magic blast. you should have seen me i was so excited. i love this armie it has never failed me.
Well there are several weaknesses to that and all "sit in hindering pansy armies" is that they rely on one peice. So if you Queen dies or even gets hit for 3 clicks your screwed. Sure you got the Troll, not liek that will be a challenge... Or they can sit outside your range and pick off your harasses forcing you to come after them.
As for your crit hit blah blah, anybody can do that, it has nothign to do with your army im surprised the tormenter didnt dodge, i could have probably heard your sobs from here.
Anyway a smart person will find a way around your death star if need be, or they will just kill your troll.
Yea, I'd have to say that death stars like this are foolish because you rely on having the imp around to stay at 300 points at the end of the game. all someone with a YO-YO army has to do is bound up, blast the imp out of exsistence and livitate the bounder back out of queenies range.. the onus is then on you to break out of your turtle and chase your opponent down.. otherwise they win by killing the imp.
good luck with silly turtle armies - you'll need it.
not only will you need to do the aforementioned, but OMG just imagine what corpheus could do to you!!!, A striker would be almost as bad, then add the fact that an arcane would swallow this army faster than 1 oz of water, well you get the idea, if your going to do a deathstar, your going to need alot of luck, and as a side note **shamans are the worst, take the ***or *
for one thing the deepwoods have limeted invis, and like i said i hide my troll behind the forest. so the only way that anyone could hit me is with magic blast. thats why th troll is there.i went undefeted in my tourni, so i must be doin something right.
Imagine losing to a HBM.. because you would certainly lose to him if you faced him with this army.. one thing about MB is that it doesn't care about your stupid sentinals.. it would just be just to KILL the queen.. and once she falls this army is toast.
Avante. Reaver. Utter destruction for this army. No one will walk straight into the queens range. ML is a strong archtype. See ya Queen. See ya Sentenials. For sure expect opponents to flank you. It wouldn't be hard to flank and swarm you with only 2 attackers on your side. Flame Lightning would also hurt and a Striker would be Devastating. To beat it I'd use
Just MB the sentenials, and start flaming your Amazon. Of course, I'll also Ram the Shamans out of healing first. Then, I can focus all my firepower on your troll.
yes i know that that one fig would beat it badly, but how often does anyone use an reaver? where i play, not much. ya i know if you take out the sha,ems them i am screwed. but if it is played right it is very very effetive.
Killing a single fig in a turn doesn't mean that much your opponent could either be very bad or you just entered a place called: the ZONE! and it happens to all of us at some point in time.;
the deepwood sentinels don't have limited invisibility, they have stealth so they are vunerable to magic blast. also they have pathetic attacks and a below average defense. stone throwers would easily just smack the snot out of the sentinels since the stone thrower ignores stealth.
i didnt know that ost ignored stealth, that just pisses me off. you know, i have a problem with all the new #### thats coming out. everything is getting biger and better, and it makes figs like amazon queen and origonal rabellion figs look like sh it. wk had a great game here, but they are just making it stupider and stupider every new set.
i still use rebellion figs, usually as the base of my army, rebellion had some of the best figs; shamans, gunners, blade golems, steam golems, i really don't need to go on. Rebellion had some of the greatest nons in my opinion, but im sure someone out there will agree with me. Whirlwind had the kruggs, kruggs.......
Wraith
Amotep Gunner***
Steam Golem (all good)
Blade Golem***
Shaman *,***
Storm Golem (LI? So what! Still packs a punch.)
Magus (People often foget ML)
Elemental Priest (People don't think much of 18 defense till it's to late)
Amazon Queen
Nightstalker*** (Personal favourite, based on good field record)
Imps
Shades
Troll Altelerists (Good record)
Bone Golems (Good record)
Demi-Magus'
Magna Draconum
Probably Missed a few but how many people make armies without a few of these in them? ;) :p
So a few new sets have someone with 5dmg Pierce or 19 shared defense or 3x flamelighning? A skilled player with an army with potential can take on any of these as long as he remains creative.
And don't even get me started on foils:mad:
