I will be the first to say that Vladd is a great fig, but I will probably be saving him for Conquest from now on. Yesterday I played a 200pt army:
1 Order of Vladd
1 Corrupted Priest ***
1 Feral Bloodsucker **
1 Leech Medic **
My first game, I traded blows, but finally lost. My opponent played well and I may have lost my edge, but another reason I lost was that my opponent had more figs on the board. Vladd was flanked when he died. The bloodsucker was also flanked. I need to play armies with at least 2-3 more figs for my style of play.
The second game was all about Water Minion. Water Minion ate my lunch. I made the tragic mistake of first overlooking that it had range! and second putting both the priest and Vladd in his front arc in the early game! How stupid could I be...? Horrible play on my part was taken advantage of by a very experienced and qualified player using a deadly piece.
So, I'm back to E Priest... although I do have a Splinter and some Trolls to exploit!
Well, it's tough to play Vladd at all, and probably the most challenging in 200 point. Also it doesn't sound like you were using him at his best. Generally speaking, Vladd should move in when a figure is pushed, then take a couple of shots at the figure, then fly away for some healing. He can be devastating when used in this way.
The last time I played Vladd in 200 point, he killed my opponents entire army. How? I had Vladd move in on my enemy's support, while the rest of my army tied up the rest of his army. Vladd killed his healer, but the rest of his army killed the rest of my army. However, Vladd was still at full strength, and every figure of my opponents had taken a lot of damage. They couldn't hit Vladd, so it was just a matter of time before Vladd killed them all...
I didn't make the best of him. I should have had the Priest stay back in the back with a couple guards (vs the bloodsucker), had Vladd go on the offensive until he lost MI, then shifted him back to be healed by the Priest!
BTW the Priest is an @ss-kicker in his own right! I've dubbed him mini-Vladd!
If you like the Corrupted Priests, you should take a look at Astrus. At level 3, he is an amazing healer, for only 44 points. He is easily the best Necropolis Sect healer...

Without Charge, Healers are at best unreliable. Corrupted Priests have Magic Healing, which is significantly better than Healing. Astrus doesn't get MH until 5th level and his cost there is much more than a Corrupted Priest.
take astrus .. he has his own right ...
he's one of the best healers out there ...
and try to have some chargers ...
like ...
nightmare reaper *** ... they can be good support ...
or a fell *** for harassment
Hi. I think Vladd is a truely awsome figure, but I thought I might offer a suggestion. I know the command ability of Vladd is hard to give up, along with his lengthy vampirism. I thought you might be able to offset the use of his command with some speedier forces. It depends on how you are using his command ability, but perhaps a Wraith and a Shade or two as an alternate force instead of Vladd, or just for a break from feeling outnumbered by opponents. The Wraith is very cost effective for a 200 point army, and is versatile in a lot of ways. Good at defense and offense both, especially when used where it has advantages. It maintains it's ability to dish out a consistent amount of damage throughout it's base (4 damage all the way through until it reaches it's last click, which is still 3), magic immunity, a ranged attack (which I think Vladd lacks), and about as many clicks as Vladd at the low, low price of 61 points. It is also very fast moving at 12. If you just look at Vladd versus a Wraith, you might be apprehensive of changing, as I would. However, you almost have to look at the figures that you could get combined using the points that you use to get Vladd. The Wraith plus...whichever you might choose. Be it a shade or two, something that you could fit in with Command, perhaps a Torrmented Soul or another threatening harrasser. Maybe a Screeching Terror? I mentioned the Shade because of it's speed, also. I wouldn't give up on Vladd completely, though. It's just a bit of a headache paying the points cost for Vladd in a 200 pointer. Good luck.
zenaka, good comments on the Wraith. I always thought that that was one of the best figures for the points. I don't see it used anymore, probably because of the 8" range. But it is fast, and can really be a great melee figure. The range ability is a bonus.
I believe someone did very well at a big tournament with a Vladd, Wraith, and assorted shade 200 pt army. I cant think of his name for the life of me...which is really irritating me.
Personally the Vladd Wraith army is very stylized. By this I mean you have to have a real feel for the way it plays. First of all, playing Vladd in 200 is weird enough. Once you are used to Vladd, try this army on for size. You'll either love it or hate it depending on how you play the game. The wraith is hellishly fast, but this army just doesn't fit my style of play. I had some success with it, but it didn't feel right. But then again, any army with Vladd is fun enough to use..... ^_^
