I really like bshuggs gunner army but sadly I don't have nub so I was toying around with it and came up with this
formation 1
3x A gunner***
E$@*
moving along with them
atumn lvl 1
slith tracker***
harrassment
shade*
zon mancatcher*
imp**
it looses some of the versatility bshuggs has with nub being able to m/l any of the gunners (but you can still get one) and I can't put a ram warrior in and still say action efficiant. but it still out guns almost any thing in 200 pt. and has most of the things I like about his army. so do you guys think this is a tourny worthy recreation of bshuggs army??
That's exactly what I had in mind...but it sounds sweeter from your own lips than from someone else's. ;)
How about give it a whirl this week and write us a battle report.
One thing that I've found playing an army without 100 point uber figs is that it requires a little more experience to fully appreciate all the capabilities. Not necessarily experience as a player, but rather experience with the chosen army. You have a LOT of options with this type of build....so the more games you play with it the better "it" becomes.
I like your design but also would find something better to use the points on besides the Imp**. Also I like the scorpems much better in 200 pts than the trackers. ML/ram isnt as deadly in 200 pts as it is in 300, so the toughness is not as important. and the threat of a bounding F/L shot really scares a lot of armies, much more so than just 3 regular damage does.
In my army the Shamen* is very important part of the design. the Enhancement is great with gunner and scorpem and the 8" Magic heal is great for setting up attack positions yet still be able to heal to stay in the fight. You may want to try to fit one instead of the ESA, but it will mess up your movements a bit.
Fitting the ram warrior in my design is not always needed. It depends on what you expect to play in your area. I usually keep the shade* because the army moves better, but if Im going to an area where I expect a lot of LI blockers with ranged or KI mounteds I switch to the ram warrior*. The loss of solid movement (all in one turn) is worth it for the flexibility.
if you want PM me some ideas and what you have to work with and I would be happy to look them over and comment.
can move pretty nice, has 2 Enhancers (very nice), and the option of flinging the ESA* as a melee guy. Only 1 harrasser, but their importance is becoming less in some match ups.
