Have any of you guys seen the new platic mini game from WotC that's coming out. Just wondering what others though about it or if anyone had even heard about it. You can see a preview of some of the figs on the DnD web page. It seems there are 16 in a starter pack.. for 20.. 8 in a booster for 10.
I am very excited about it. A little competition never hurt keep a company honest. It may be a better game after all. They had a chance to analyze wizkids product and fix the problem areas.

That basically rules them out for me :(
If there's anything I hate about collectible games, it's the fact that you have to put them together and PAINT!! them too, yekkes.
The Wotc game is pre-painted just like MK... they don't have a name though... they're called DnD Mini's.. wierd.. I was just wondering if anyone knew about the rules or what not

I believe the only rules for the "game" are the D&D rules that you use on regular minis anyway. Though the figures also come with cards with D&D stats you could use.
Figure quality is at least as good as Wizkids and poses are better (they have to worry about figures being strong enough).
They also don't have the rarity system which goes a long way to making the game better value...
they are prepainted which makes them very cool in my eyes. They are random which makes for fun trading and collecting. They are also based on the hugely popular DnD game. The combat system also uses the D20 which will give much more accurate and balanced combat. 2d6 because of the scaling difficulty of rolling gives skewed combat systems.
I origanally got into MK for good DnD mini's for cheap. Now DnD is making them just as nice, for there own game, and cheaper! Today is a happy day.

Personally, I think that the sculpts are good, but the paint jobs are just so-so. The bodies are very good, but the faces aren't up to Mage Knight standards (yes, I know that's not that good, either).
BTW, they do have a rarity system. There are rare, uncommon and common figures.
Does anyone know if they are going to be on round click style bases or good old fashioned 1 inch square bases that I can use in my D&D games. I hope to God they are on square bases as I am tired of trying to rip MK figs off of their bases and glue them to 1 inch square bases. (yes I know I could just use MK figs as is, but their bases don't fit into a 1 inch square pattern and I have to have that because I am anal about that sort of thing.) Any sort of info would be helpful, especially from those that went to Wizard World and may have seen them. Thanks.
