I'm from Spain and here I've not seen any MK Metal figures. I only have news about the unlimited painter's edition (plastic, not metal) that were sold in boosters with random figures just as the usual expansions.
I've also heard about Metal Edition, with Individual boxes with metal figures from Rebellion and Lancers Expansions. (Perhaps any unique from unlimited?)
I've seen in several web pages how this figures looks like and I think it's great!
I look at my armies (poor knight immortals) and I don't like how several uniques and good non uniques from Rebellion & Lancers looks like. I would like to get metal figures to paint and place in his dial base, to improve the aspect of my armies.
So, my questions are:
1) Is the information that I've explained until now correct? Please tell me if I'm wrong in something.
2) Are there more metal figures for other expansions? Dungeon heroes? (From Dungeons expansions: Joram, Hitash Levat, Treesianna... etc) I've seen the page Xencade Repaints and I've seen Heroes from Dungeons so good painted and with so much detail that they can't be from the plastic standard dungeons expansion.
3) It seems that several Pyramid Heroes are based on the metal versions from metal uniques:
4) Where can I get this figures? I'm interested in several uniques and non uniques from Rebellion and Lancers, and, in case they exists, several heroes from Dungeons. I don't mind if they are mint or if they are already mounted and painted, if they are in good condition.
Thank you very much for so much patience needed to read this, and for answers! Excuse my poor English too! :)
MK Metal was released for Rebellion and Lancers (all figures in these sets), but no other expansions. Painter's edition is plastic and pre-assembled, making it very difficult to paint certain figures. I don't think MK Metal is in production any longer, which means they most likely are only available at stores that keep large volumes in-stock (probably in their bargan bin) or auctions. Don't try to order these from online stores that don't keep things in stock; you know who I'm talking about.
The Metal sculpts are reused all over the place in recent expansions. This leads to some issues when certain not-so-modeling-oriented groups assume a metal fig is actually a different figure.
The dungeons figs you mentioned are currently available through Iron Wind Metals. You'll have to browse though to see which ones are there. There are some other figs that were reused from other old lines, such as Crucible. Be careful when not buying these figs in person, as some are not the same size and won't fit on a combat dial (such as elementals).
Wizkids store has the metal minis and they tend to be on sale. Just go to the american WK site and there is a link to their store.
MKD mini are from different lines and I would suggest contacting Xencade about them. HE finds them all the time and even has found a metal Bakus figure
Looks like two of my close MK friends already responded to you (arsthein emailed me about this thread).
The only thing I would add to what they have stated is that you go to www.ironwindmetals.com and download/view their pdf catalog. There are many sculpts to pick from. Take the item numbers to your venue and see if he can order them for you.
One more question: ironwindmetals have figures in stock? :)
And does the base of this figures fit in a dial base? I plan to paint them and put them in a dial base for playing.
I don't know who is Jeneki talking about but... I had a bad experience buying online with an online store, etc, etc... which name I won't say... ;)
What about CyberDungeon? ironwindmetals are improving their web site, so I can't see the figures or buy them, but I already have seen their catalog. It's good!
Thank you very much again, and: Xencade, would you manage to get metal figures and sell it to me?
I have bought some of the Painters edition figs, and all mine did not come mounted to the bases. So there is no worry there. I was also perusing someones painting page (for mini's) and he had some figs that looked remarkably like some of the Dungeon figs! I think it was Reaper Minitures although I could be wrong. I will find out more when I get home. I don't have the link to the page where I am.

Something to consider is that many of the Dungeons figures were actually old Ral Partha sculpts. Jarl Frostriven is one that comes to mind. If you can find these figures they would look much better painted than the plastic figures.
One caveat: They would not be technically legal for tournament play (part of the rules state the figure must be a WizKids figure). Personally, I would have no problem with the substitution because the figures are identical (except, perhaps, in quality) with the Dungeons figure.
Ok, I fogured out what they were now. Ral Partha had a division of Mini's called Crucible. Iron Wind Metals had bought the Ral Partha line and that included the Crucible Figs and Mechwarrior stuffs. Here is a link to a figure that looks remarkably like Allison Vale. :)

The Tournament rules state that metal figs are legal if "The figure is produced by the game's manufacturer" (i.e. WizKids) & the figure is correct for the base (no putting the Blade Golem metal on a Brass Golem base).
Since the only line of metal minatures produced by WizKids has been the MK Metals line, they are only ones that are tournament legal.
As for the Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals saga, I starts with FASA (the owner of Ral Partha at the time) going out-of-business. WizKids purchased much of Ral Partha. Later, WizKids spins off Ral Partha into a separate company which becomes Iron Wind Metals. I don't really know exactly what the business relationship is between the two at this time.
(no putting the Blade Golem metal on a Brass Golem base).
Does the fig on the top really matter? I mean, as long as the base stays the same and that stats arn't messed with, the figure should be tournament legal. Where I play, as long as the base is correct, it's playable. Even if, as you said, a Blade Golem metal is on a Brass Golem's base.
That's my view. I think metal figs look great though.

Yes. Here are the applicable rules:
Quote
Legal Figures
All WizKids figures are considered tournament-legal, provided that they meet the following criteria:
• the figure is produced by the game’s manufacturer
• the figure is correct for the base
• the figure’s collector number on the base matches the collector number on the combat dial
• the figure is original (figures may be painted and modeled as the player chooses, but other players must be able to identify each figure without difficulty)
• the figure is not a promotional or demo figure as defined by WizKids
WizKids metal figures that match the collector number on the base and combat dial are tournament-legal. No more than one of each unique figure may be included in a single army, although an army can include as many different unique figures as a player wishes. There are no banned, restricted or otherwise prohibited WizKids figures.
