I gave it an 8. I was happy with all the trolls. Also, I liked the fact they brought back the Mage Spawn as many people requested! The return of the Shyft was also good. The adventure parties I am still on the fence about. It adds more complexity to the game however it it can more figures useful. On the negative side too many mistakes on the dial were made which shows they must have rushed it out too fast without double or triple checking the prototypes or proofs before going into full production.
I wish i voted 8-9... But i gave 7. Even if Omes is a great set - good ideas, good figurines - there were too much bugs on dials. It's not vey serious... And a "professionnal" company as Wizkids should be more efficient in this domain....;)
I gave it a 7. Overall, I think it is a good release.
I like:
> inexpensive Mage Spawn
> new domains are very useful
> AC concept
> Shyft figures
> a few interesting figures that can be incorporated into army construction with little problems
> Apprentice Folio (very nice idea)
> a couple of nice Solonavi foot soldiers.
Could be improved:
> only 1 card per booster. I've gotten use to 2.
> some figures that appear at first sight destined for the "never used" box
> range seems to be distorted in many figures .... 9", 11". EL archers with 8" range ? An archer needs to be able to sit behind the lines and hit distant figures .... not front line troops.
> quality of the champion dials (physical quality & distribution). I have purchased about 12 boosters and pulled 6 champions. Of this 4 of the Champions have between 1-4 dials missing. Also, I've had problems switching out some of the dials ... they seem a bit thin.
Overall, I'm OK with the release. There are some highlights and some areas for future improvement. I think the main thing for me is that there is not a single figure or proficiency that leads me to slap my forehead and say "what was WK thinking". No extremely broken / overpowering figure or proficiency. I think this is a good thing.
