Well, I dug up this forum section as another one, and in order to breath a little life into it, here goes :):
Heddravalis has probably replaced Varatrix as my favorite centerpiece. He's just so versatile and has so much raw power it's amazing. After quite a bit of testing, here's what I've got for 400 points:
Heddravalis-113
Cloak of Shadows-8
Wylden-Host Leader-78
Nepheara Pike-41
Potion of Dueling-6
**EF Stag-47
***Dragon Priest-40
**EF Stag-47
*Grimlin-10
*Grimlin-10
So far this has served he incredibly well, acting as a mix between saberslash's Combined Arms, and mrdbeau's Ghost Recon (without the relic-breaking core of course :p). One of the thougher matches so far was against an army with Khan Rava, Chroma, and a whole bunch of Magespawn with summon. Neph managed to get to the Summoner and knock it out of Summon before she lost her Stag. Heddy got slammed by Rava, but eventually healed by the Dragon Priest. Finally, Neph's PoD dealt Rava a mighty 5, demoralizing him, and a healed Heddy picked off what was left.
The match I haven't been able to win was the one against a super beefed Chroma, some minor support, and Revenant. My only answer to a 21 defense is either a PoD shot from Pike, or a bunch of Trample/Ram damage.
Regardless, whatever suggustions you may have for this army, keep in mind that Heddy cannot go! Thanks! :)
Oh come on, 15 of you thought this army was so perfect nothing could be said about it? :p I've gotten one advisatory (if that's even a word) PM, and more critique would be greatly appreciated!

Well, to be fair, I think that 8 of those were probably me, as the local competition has pretty much fallen through, so I don't have much to do but clog the Realms... :( Army looks good though. I can't offer any suggextions off the top of my head.
Eek, that's annoying. Here just South of the Mason Dixon line, we still have the players, but college and stuff interfered, so we're holding out until the summer.
As for teh army, I think I'm a little too vulnerable to spells. I was also considering dropping the Grimlins for an Apprentice Folio, probably with Auraheal, and a Marauder Gishki (A). I could also make it a more "utility" book, with Centaur's Gait, Archer's Aim, and Disbelieve. Thoughts?

I think your army belongs to the "no obvious holes" army and that's why there's really nothing wrong that stands out. In fact, it's a very solid army. :)
But if you insist....
Pike would be better suited if she rode the EF Sky Dragon. Ditto also for the Dragon Priest. But if not, the EF Horned Stag is still a great cost-efficient combo.
And I'm not too comfortable with the Wylden Host Leader in there. Replace it (and the Grimlins if necessary) with any of the following:
- revenanter
- cheap magic healer
- mid-priced attacker
- cheap but very effecient sorcerers (Tempest Priest** or Delphana Master**) with spellbook

Now that's what I'm talking about! First of all, I have a problem with Sky Dragons and Reventors. I mean, in your online tournament, its ok, because its the build being tested, not the playing. But I a monstrosity 28 inches downfield for one action, or increasing my army by almost 50%, if even for a turn, for one action. It saps the fun out of the game...
Now that that's out of the way, here's what I've got for the WHL-Grimlin replacement; I agree, she is a weak link:
I think the Grimlins were way too fragile; the Orcs are much hardier. The Centuar Champ is IMO the best melee figure in his point class, and a better figure than a whole bunch that cast more.
I like this more aggressive version a lot more. Thoughts? Thanks for you help!
The replacements are okay. Another alternative is to replace the Maruaders and Gishki, which gives you an extra 32 points, maybe for a Dwarven Forgemage*** for healing duties and extra muscles. Either way, it's all good. :)
She was meant to be an untargettable healer that could take objectives and, in a pinch, fight.
As for updates for my army, I can't say I have any, because I haven't had anyone to play with for a month :(. One small change was to, in the final version, replace Gishiki is a Cloak of Shadows for the Centaur. Stealth is good, and an extra 1" to his charge allows him to compete with Stags.
I don't believe that's necessarily true. I think that this army has evolved to the point where it is fast enough to play around most game-changing spells, and with that has come the offensive power that I myself wouldn't need spells for anything but countering the effects of my opponents spells.
