3000 pt army in the making. And now I have to dig old school to supply its teeth.
So we got word last night that this weekend is going to be a big 3000 pt 8 order matches.
That should make most of my matches fairly easy as half the crew can't put together competent 600 pt armies together yet lol.
Going to start it off with I think ...yeah The Exarch formorly known as the Paladin that owned you. Not sure what equipment to put on the atlas yet. Put Sugar Rush and Gray Wolf in the mix to help keep infantry at bay

(maybe Antipersonal) - few peeps like to use infantry support for range formations on tanks
or maybe something to ignore decoy and evade that people have a habit of overdosing on

going to have all my DI Towed Artillery in place + maybe those arrow IVs
a good bit of my classic Infantry set ups
-Br Elite Infantry + BR SRM Team X2(Infantrate)
-Unique SS SRM + SS SRM Team x2
-Unique Elite Infantry DF + DF Guila Suitsx2(infantate)
-Unique BR Mortar Squad + BR Mortar Squdsx2
Might fill in the rest(infantry wise) with Clan battle armor supported by a sqaud card to keep these things pounding when they get a taste of blood. Towed Gauss Might be dropped from a transport as well
Tanks Im not to sure about... I dont have any of those killer 24 defense tanks yet. Might make a formation out of my old shimit DF tanks and BR glory fires. Then find some extras to tank drop.
Ive always got my ARES I could throw into the mix. And with 3000 pts wont be anything shy of targets with in range so might as well pump its Attack rating to max and just draw blood at will while using assualts to entertain threats.
Ideas welcome....list coming after my final im suppose to be studying for right now lol
I would consider droping 100 units into mobile hq's.... it may feel silly but that posibilty of 4x extra orders in a game of that size will pay off in spades. and in 3000 points 8 orders is a little low for the amount of units you could possibly have out.
I gave this one some thought today. I probably can't make it out for the game on Saturday, but thinking out scenarios still appeals to me.
The order restriction in this one is tough! What about running all 4 Ares Mechs, with their pilots, and backing them up with Command units for extra orders and Coolant Trucks to keep them in fighting form? You should have enough points for a decent base screen as well. Seems like that army would be hard to stop.
Do you know if this game will be on a standard 3' X 3' board, or will it be larger? Not sure where you would put all your forces on a 36-inch field . . .
The guy has 3^2 foot cut boards that dont even have the DP zones drawn lol...you got to always measure it to see if your there lol. Im still waiting on my 4th Ares in the mail. according to USPS its set up a tracking number but hasnt been sent so might not get here. My Friend was going to play So I was thinking of letting him use my Ares anyway. I do think the MHQ is a nice idea though. as of now only one that comes to mind that has Command is Levin. Whats the point of Recruiting cost on the Colosal mech pilots anyway?
So Im here looking for ideas for my army....and came up with a very funny and cheap tatic....(not what Im going to use unless everyone shows up cheap) DP Zone is 25 SS DI Towed AA Artillery lol. behind that is 8 HQ from DA. rest is as much infantry that you can fit between you and the opponent

So you have 8 orders plus 8 command rolls? For 25 artillery pieces?
I don't think would work too well. An opponent with mostly heavy and assault Mechs is going to run up and try to get under the 12' minimum arty range on those pieces. Once they clear a few of your infantry, they can get in there and start clearing out AA pieces. There's no way for your army to make a comeback from that, since your units only deal 1 damage per hit, and you have 8 orders plus 8 command rolls.
It would be cheap, though. Personally, I don't think too many people will "play cheap" at a 3,000-point game. Most of them will probably have to scramble just to field 3000 points.
lol remember the few hundred peasant companies....you can fill a 3 by 3 board completely up with that many!!! remember this isnt even a realistic consideration. Just a stray evil thought among many
But you could acturally fit a 9th HQ in there as well. by the odds 11 orders a turn. The rest of the field is filled up with as much filler as you can. 25 art and 8-9 HQ is only about 1/3 of the total points you can use....2000/4=500 BR peasants...but you know you proably cant fit that many with in the 12 inches they can infantrate so you pick some other filler infatrates to keep the opponent from getting close....and if you go first they never have a pray. and if they go second... just means it last a little bit longer lol
I recently played a 1050 point game where my army consisted of 4x mobile hq's (DF) and the rest of the points were industrial mechs. played 3 games the only game i won was the game taht i made alot of my command rolls, when all the mechs could shot, move, AO, or vent in a turn things went very well. took down an atlast very fast with several charging construction mechs and forestry mech mods and agro mech mods. But when i did not roll well for comand in my other 2 games it went really bad. feilding mechs with command and vehicles with command i think would be key in that battle who ever has the most orders in a turn will most likely win.
I thought about dropping 9 into the army (centerdot from edge to edge in the back) but Im also building my friend a 3k pt army to have fun with too so I had to forfiet some to his army lol. but 6 + Jonah still for command atm. Still tossing plenty of pieces around and pulling out some old school toys. DZ is the biggest concern atm with getting everything out into the field
Rough cut of my current build. trying to find a third BR schimitt to replace marksman currently in build(not listed with marksman) so all infantrate. also looking for my 6th SRM team to complete a formation. Found I have limited Assualt Equipment.

I don't know how familiar you are with Situational Alliance card rules, but you cannot field any units that are not of the named factions or their immediate allies.
In other words, the BR/Rasalhague alliance can't include DF, ROTS, or Wolf units. Similarly, the HK/RTOS one can't include BR or Wolves.
Other than that, it looks like you've got an impressive number of units there. It'll certainly scare a few people.
