The Official Marvel TCG Website has finally filled in the Beyond Creative section of their website. According to Omeed Dariani, "This project was huge and took a lot of time - and was authored by Mike Flores, a huge comic book fan and well-known TCG writer."
"Beyond Creative" explains a bit about the card; not the gameplay, but the actual comic background ... and how it all came together.
Here's an example:
Overpowered This is a lesson: Pick your fights. If you go up against the Thing or Spider-Man, you probably aren't going to win. You are going to wake up in jail with a headache. These guys are super strong, smart, and good at what they do. They also value human life and will let you keep walking when they're done beating you up, even if they don't let a criminal like you simply walk away.
Don't get in a fight with the Hulk. He doesn't lose. If you are a building, you are about to graduate to "empty lot" status. If you are a robotic henchman, you are about to become scrap metal. Don't get in a fight with the Hulk: if he hits you, you don't get up.
After reading the whole thing, I still love it. I do wish he'd taken more time to explain to us a little more about how the cards' effects reflect their comic counterparts. Most of us already know backstory.
This makes me realize something that I hadn't before, and that's just how much the random twists reflect ongoing themes in the Marvel Universe. Take Political Pressure for example. It's a constant pain to Marvel Heroes, but it's something DC characters and the like don't normally have to worry about.

100% ditto on that one!
Still very nice though. Haven't gotten to read all of it yet, but I've really enjoyed what I did look through, especially the "random twists".
