During Gencon, I'm thinking about having a huge game with ten people on two teams; pitting the five teams of Marvel against the five teams of DC. I'm going to convince the UDE people to throw in some prize support.
Some ground rules I thought up:
1. Each team gets a collective 250 endurance. No single player has endurance.
2. Each player must play a different team.
3. All Marvel or DC characters reinforce and can participate in team attacks.
4. Banned cards: Some cards like Xavier's Dream and Dark Phoenix, and maybe Rigged Elections etc. would probably be banned.
I thought of a DC vs. Marvel format myself. It basically works like a regular one on one game, with these changes.
1. One player may only play Marvel characters while the other may only play DC character. All plot twists, locations, and equipment are open for either player.
2. Anywhere a card says X-Men, Fantastic Four, Brotherhood, Doom, Sentinel, Negative Zone (in reference to the team, not the location), Skrull, Spider-Friends, or Sinister Syndicate it is considered to say Marvel instead. Anywhere a card says Gotham Knights, Teen Titans, Arkham Inmates, League of Assassins, Fearsome Five, or Deathstroke (in reference to the team, not the character) it is considered to say DC. (For balancing purposes, unaffiliated characters remain unaffiliated.)
