Let me see if I have this right? Magneto prevents stunned characters from recovering. Does this mean that if you have more than one character stunned that all of them will KO at the recovery phase?
Originally posted by Taxeon So you are confirming that all stunned opposing characters will be KO'd during the recovery phase.
Are you saying that a stunned character's permanent affects do not work when that character is stunned?
If Magneto is stunned himself but not KO'd opposing characters can recover?
Magneto, Master of Magnetism prevents your opponent by recovering any characters by any means as long as Magneto is not stunned and in play. If Magneto is stunned, characters may be recovered because his text is not in play. Since recovery during the recovery phase is simultaneous, if he is stunned when recovery begins, your opponent may recover characters.
Let's say I have Magneto, MoM in play, unstunned. On my opponents side he has Feral Rage and 6-drop Mystique, both stunned. When the recovery phase rolls around, can he choose to recover Mystique as his char to recover and KO all remaining guys (Feral being the only one) but since Magneto stops her from recovering she just stays on his side face down?
I know it sounds weird, but bare with me as this is what my opponent tried the other day. I wasn't going for it but the comp rules say you simultaneously choose one and KO all remaining, so I didn't really have a firm place to stand on while defending my position on this.
Here is another thing. He at 16/16 seems worth more than many other 7 cost characters such as Wolverine who is 14/13 and has a much weaker lasting character affect. Or Punisher who is 15/15 and is OK in text, or SpiderMan at 14/16.
It doesn't seem very balanced. I assume this is not the norm, since I don't see many people complaining about it.

Then your opponent may not recover any characters. Your opponent may not select one character to keep because of Magneto's text. All of their stunned characters are KO'd.
Originally posted by bloke Because his power is useless unless you have initiative. He therefore needs to have better stats.
Why do you have to have initiative? If your opponent attacks and for one reason or another becomes stunned his power still works doesn't it?
Also as I understand it initiative only gives a person first attack therefore if each person has several characters both will have a chance to attack since the rules say one attack at a time. Am I missing something?
He is definitely less useful when you don't have intiative but I wouldn't call him useless. Your opponent can team attack and stun him, whereas if it was your attack you'd attack a smaller guy with Magneto so he wouldn't be stunned and your opponent would have to KO all of their stunned characters. Still, considering most of the decks he is in run 8 copies of Magneto and Lost City/Avalon, you should be able to make him quite hard to stun while defending.

Can you not attack an exhausted character if there are other unexhausted characters in play? Why can't the opponent just attack the exhausted Magneto to stun him with his remaining characters so he can recover his stunned chars (granted he might end up with one more stunned char but at least he can recover most)?
I read the rules as the person with initiative attacks first but then the person without initiative can attack with one of his non exhausted/non stunned characters. Is this wrong?
Does defending exhaust a character if that character is not stunned?
Taxeon,
Methinks your missing a fundemental here m'lad....
Stunning a character makes all text inactive till the character has recovered. That and card text overrides basic rules. So MOM is out no other players can even recover their 1 character in recovery.
As for whether he is useless on non-initiative rds? I personally Think he's a great drop 7 for brotherhood. Especially with Lost city out.
Just my opinion on the latter half of the post. Hope this helps.
