In your opinion, what is the best way to run a Booster draft? Should we have a 1st and 2nd place prize or allow the winners of each round to look through their opponets deck and take one card as their prize? I am running tournaments at a local card shop and the owner is just now getting off his feet, for him to make the most money and to improve the store, the latter is the better option. I do, however, know that alot of players hate losing their best card to an opponet with a bad draw. Should the winner be able to look through that entire persons card draft pool or just the 30 card deck? In other words, can the playr but his best card drafts into his 12 card spare pile?

the best way to make money from the draft is charge about $2 bucks extra on top of what the three packs cost. in an 8 man draft thats $16 plus 24 packs sold, minus whatever the prize. at my usually place its 6 packs for the first place and 2 for second place(i think, havent drafted in a while, magic that is). Even though you arent getting much profit, you are moving product and creating a customer base. much more important that a couple more bucks profit.

and yes you own what you draft. never ever go the winner takes cards route for prizes.
