Dah! I pointed this out in an Art thread and no one noticed! Now Bizarro is taking all my credit!!!
But yeah, it is a nice easter egg, isn't it? I didn't notice the DAILY....PLANET conection, though I suspect you're right because of the Madripoor similarity.
I was thinking about a DC/Marvel crossover too. I'd love to be able to open a pack and get Spiderman and Superman in the same one. And the interesting team ups that could result! Bizarro Spidey, that would be great (cuz we haven't seen enough Spider-clones yet).
As far as I'm aware, there have never been any Bizarro versions of Marvel characters, except for Bizarnage, the Bizarro/Carnage combo from the Amalgam storyline, and I'm still not sure how Amalgam characters would factor into the Uniqueness Rule.
Well, definitely not "Bizarro" versions of them, I am not sure how copywrighted that term even is, but there have definitely been evil Marvel clones.
Besides the Spiderman clones, Madelyne Pryor was a clone of Jean Grey that went evil (Inferno storyline). Marvel likes to pull out clones at the worst times.
BTW Bizarro #98, do you watch Adult Swim, specifically Sealab 2021? There is a Bizarro episode of that show (my favorite episode in fact). For the longest time, I thought that was where you got your name from.;)
Don't trust Sealab, they took some major liberties with the Bizarro concept. Bizarros aren't evil, just vapidly unintelligent and insistent on acting in the opposite manner of normal Earth behavior, as per the Bizarro's Code:
"Us do opposite of all Earthly things!
Us hate Beauty!
Us love Ugliness!
Is big crime to make anything perfect on Bizarro World!"
They have got to make that the flavor text on something!

Oh yes, I know the DC Bizarro concept is infinitely more complicated than Sealab's Bizarro's.
Still, in our campus apartment last year, Adult Swim was our bonding time (although 3 of the 4 of us were in an improv group called Mad Cow together, so that counted too), and we all loved the Bizarros episode. So much, that our intermural softball team was named "The Bizarros."
