Most pros generally are at the consensus that while Heat Vision is better slightly, either pick is defensible depending on what you have, don't have, and like.
As for Orion/Big Barda, most of the time you want Big Barda. You only pick Orion if you cannot find Big Barda because he's the only 6 in the game that can handle Big Barda - next to BB herself.
I think I'd go for Heat Vision for sure, that's a super pack you'd really like to have opened in sealed - : ( - but c'est la vie.
Still Big Barda is very very good. I don't think there's any charecter I'd take over her. Exceptions being Superman, Kal-El - This guy is the nut high, and perhaps Darkseid, Uxas. I could potentially see taking Devilance under certain circumstances, but basically Big Barda is the best man. The thing is though in MoS that the blue is much more important then the red, and as such Heat Vision and I Hate Magic! are much better.
Dunno, I only remembered the Superman draft list for about a day, sorry :). My gut tells me Barda though (as long as you can convince Charsky that you can use Barda for 0 endurance while under 0).

You pro's get others to playtest for you? No wonder you're all so rested... it took me many drafts to perfect my superman drafting skills.
If in a Man of Steel draft your first pack contained Heat Vision, I Hate Magic! and either one of those 6-drops (since they have a similar function and are both very good in the format), which one would you first pick?
I drafted MoS twice. 1st time was at my pre-release, I didn't know what any of the cards did. 2nd time was at PC Amsterdam, when my teammates were like "everyone wants odd init, but you want evens, so you'll get it every time, and everyone thinks devilance and hordes are awesome, but you don't want those cards, good luck". Good times.
