Its not adjusted for Hoh's DQ since I use the official standings that UDE posts when the tournament info is sent in and they obviously didn't decide to take him out of the standings. To the other question, it uses any 10K or PC which includes Constructed and Limited formats together.
Originally posted by Yoda-X42 Pardon my ignorance, how are the points weighted?
Taken from the old thread: "Points are awarded at a PC by giving 75 points to 1st place and scaling down by 1 point for each place till 1 point for 75th and then top 8 gets bonus points, 25 for 1st, 20 for 2nd, 15 for 3rd-4th, and 10 for 5th-8th. Points for a 10k are a little more modified but are similar as top 8 gets 1st - 25, 2nd - 23, 3rd - 21, 4th - 20, 5th - 18, 6th - 17, 7th - 16, 8th - 15."
And I think Hans still deserves the points. I mean, he did make top 8, and as long as he didn't cheat to get there (which we don't know), he isn't actually a bad player.
I couldnt care less how 'good' Hans really is. All i know is that the individuals entrusted to judge adherence to the rules of the game on its most vaunted stage decided that he cheated.
This is a decision that goes past the grounds of mere allegation. Given all of the information, it was concluded that Hans cheated. The decision to DQ without prize is never taken lightly. Hans is free to appeal the decision but at this stage he is guilty until proven innocent, rather than the other way around.
Cheating is the absolute worst thing you can do. For mine, a second chance is always warranted so long as the guilty part continues to protest their innocence, as mistakes can be made. However, i am willing to trust the decision of the judges in this regard.
As a result, i dont see why Hans deserves any sympathy, let alone reward from the Vs community, AT ALL. Hans tried to cheat Karl Horn, and any interested party to PCLA, out of money and recognition. I dont see how this garners him any respect whatsoever. His actions belittle the entire Vs playing world, and any punishment should recognise this.

I'm just saying, I interpreted this thread as the best players of the year. I'm not sympathizing with him, I'm just saying he is a good player. I'm not saying cheating is good, or that he was innocent either (I really doubt he was).
whatever is said about Roy, and there has been a lot, until UDE decides to do anything about him, he is innocent until proven guilty. The fact that the infamous Roy St Clair hasnt been penalised for anything major gives more weight to the confidence the judges must have had in the guilt of Hans to DQ him.
