I can't even breathe, that is a new level of impressive. Made me forget completely what FTN even stands for. O, M, G. We have a new favorite.
I set the odds at 2-1 that the new PC Champion comes from that list. FTN drops to 3-1 or higher. Any takers?
Now that's the Kergy Korner I loved and miss. You are going to laugh your ass off this Friday btw. I am sure Kergy will jump on and tell me I totally ripped him off even if I did submit my article last week. :-( Such is the life of the internet writer. Score Starcity 2, Realms 0.
Dave Spears, no matter what we have said or done to each other in the past, I am sincerely in awe of your skills. That team is so solid it could be granite. Congratulations. Sincerely. I am really happy for you, you just legitimacized Team Vs. again. My nads are throbbing in anticipation of Atlanta now, we have ourselves a horserace!
Picking the individual winner is a mug's game; too much luck is involved (I'm sure any PC winner would tell you the same). Allocating teams to # of spots in the top 8 is a different story.
Obviously a good team though. IIRC I am 7-6 against those players overall (5 of the losses are vs walls and reeves alone though, the other being to jason hager when he first came to attention in the semis of 10k columbus a year ago).
Probably anything less than 25% of the top 8 spots is underachieving for FTN right now. Any team that can provide some sort of friendly rivalry would be nice; togit aren't much fun ;)
Reminds me of Chelsea being premiership favourites the same season Mourinho took over and spent a bunch of russian oil money. All before anyone had even seen them kick a ball. Okay so they did win, but anyway... ;)
Kalman dubbed FTN the JLA of VS. I guess that would make this lot the Injustice Gang?
(This is the last time I trash talk based on comics I know nothing about).
Interesting odds, Stu. I agree with them more or less, although 1.6 to 1 on TSH getting 2 people in the top 8 seems a little too low. I'd say it's almost a guarantee that two of those people make top 8 and wouldn't be surprised at all if one of them wins. Playing with and against those guys on a regular basis makes me realize just how good they really are.
My team's (TAWC) down a few guys so 12:1 odds on 2 of us making top 8 isn't a great bet. Unfortunately I think John Hall and Michael Barnes won't be making the trip to ATL from their home states, however we'll still have a strong core of players with Batow, Wiggins, myself, Meyer, Blair, and Hostutler still attending.
Here's to hoping on improving that 10th place from last PC!
I think Batow from TAWC has a really good chance of getting top 8 in ATL... Only if we could draft here in Tulsa... OH WAIT SHANE WIGGINS LIES LIKE A MOTHER... Sorry, had to say that. I hate people who say they are going to come up and draft and don't call and say they aren't going to make it.

That was funny. Almost as funny as the Florida Marlins beating the New York (bloated) Yankees to end their 100th Anniversary season... with less than one-third of their salary!

Get a hippodraft or something.
Uh. . . I do . . . every week.
There's nothing like cracking open real packs and seeing the artwork. Besides, you don't get to keep rares after Hippodrafting ;-)
I realise not everyone gets as much product as I do (Sneak Preview, PCQ last weekend, PCQ this weekend and PC in just under a month will be approximately 10 boxes of MXM that'll all be opened in a draft), but if I were planning on competing at the Pro Circuit, I'd definitely invest some time and money into improving my drafting skills (on the assumption I wouldn't 0-4 the first four rounds of constructed FTL).
But then again, I'm not a good player (which everyone will see tomorrow in my article about how badly I screwed up my latest draft), so what do I know?
