I sat down and opened a box of DJL today, and was a little surprised at what I got. This was the first time I'd torn into a whole box of the set, so this may be fairly common place, but I've never heard about it.

I pulled:
2 Copies of New Era, 1 Foil 1 Not
2 Copies of Poison Ivy 2 Drop, 1 Foil 1 Not
2 Copies of H'ronmeer's Curse, 1 Foil 1 Not
2 Copies of the IG Dr. Light, 1 Foil, 1 Not

That's all the Multiples, but it is notable that fully half the Rares in the Box were Foil.

On a side note, I seemed to get less of certain commons and uncommons than would seem normal:

No Grodds
1 WGH
No Roll Calls
No Booster Golds

That's just what I noticed, there may be more.

Like I said, this is the first time I've cracked a whole box of DJL, so this may be a common thing and this is the first I've heard of it.

Is this normal?

This is actually a good sign that the boxes are truly random. If they were collated, wouldn't you get just one copy of each rare?

In every box of DJL (4 boxes) I got at least 1 New Era. I wonder if even among the rares, the individual rares have their own rarity per UDE?? I know that once they hit the market some are more rare than others; Savage Beatdown versus Chaos Magic for instance. In my first 3 boxes I ended up with a total of 4 Poison Ivy's. The real kicker is that I only averaged 1 NtH Metal per box and that's common.

it isnt DJL its UDE, my X-Men was horrible, out of 5ish boxes i pulled 9 or 10 Mech Bays, and in general, i pulled a lot of copies of rares and not all of them usefull or tradeable

I think there is a level of rarity among the rares, uncommons and commons even.

I opened 5 boxes of Avengers and pulled a Under Seige and a 2 drop Kang in each one. While only pulling one NTZ, one Hawkeye (leader by example), and one Avengers mansion.

I think the boxes are pretty random, although I do see a print run like order with the commons sometimes. This is rare in the boxes I've opened.

The uncommons seem to be fairly random as well. I've opened two boxes of JLA and roughly pulled one copy of each, and almost two copies of each.

And I think the commons are pretty random, but you should, keyword, should, usually get about 2 copies of each common in the set.

I'm just glad that UDE had the foresight to make some of the "meat n potatoes" cards commons. Like Teen Titans Go! If that card hadn't been a common, imagine how much it'd would have been worth back in the day.

Unlike some card games, where some decks are nothing but rares and super rares. And ultra rares. and super duper ultra smack yer momma cause you pulled it rares.

I think the boxes are completely random too, but my X-Men boxes were HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I got 3 X-23's, 3 Thornn's, Dark Phoenix, Man-Bull, 2 or 3 Chill Outs, and some other stuff. The only decent rares I pulled were 1 Foil SNIKT! and that's really not even that good, 2 Blow The Man Down, Mob Mentality, and I think a Momentary Distraction. I refuse to buy any more X-Men boxes unless they go below $49.99. E-Bay had Avengers boxes for $35!! Almost bought one.

I pulled 6 Savage Beatdown back in the day, but I never could get a Chaos Magic out of the box. I had to buy singles. Go figure.

at our local hobby league... we've noticed that when you get a foil rare in a pack, you almost always get a non-foil of the same card in the next pack...

I got a bad mix in my 2 X-men box... No EofmE, no Backs, no Boot to the Head, no Wortington, no Mob mentality...

Screw the collation. The retarded thing is that DJL cards are a different size to the other cards. Our Tuesday night constructed prize support spans multiple sets, and the DJL cards are a good millimetre or two shorter than the others.

Wow, I've never had that good of luck. You actually bought Chaos Magic? What, did you get them out of one of those machines in a card shop that you put a $0.01 in for 1 random card? :p

Thats funny. I got 4 boxes of DJL and got zero New Eras and Zero Kooeys. I had loads of Nth Metal and got 3 Heros Welcome in one box. And I'm pretty sure there was some sort of conspiracy to put a Grodd and a Chomin in every pack I opened b/c i must have over 10 of each of those.

My first box of X-men was truly depressing. Man-Bull and Franklin Richards dupes. But, in three boxes overall, Ive got 3 EomE and 3 Emma Frost and a couple of Wothingtons, so I cant complain. DJL has by far been my biggest nemesis.

Foil, baby. And I used them on the Pro Circuit too.
