So the new Blade tv series hit the television tonight and from what I have seen so far it is pretty bad a$$. I like it. I don't know how many of you will but I think it is good. The downer is no Wesly Snipes.
Originally posted by ObsidianKnight there is no acting, they got a wanna be gangster to play him he wouldnt scare my 8 year old. it was horrible and i couldnt get past the first 30 mins.
if that show lasts a full season its a miracle. its nothing but eye candy. shut the sound off and it is much better.
Right now, it does look very suspect. But you never know, if it can make it out of it's first season....it MIGHT get better. They just need to keep us occupied by filling it up with some eye candy hotties as New Bloods. It would also be cool to see some cameos from some other related Marvel heroes. hey, it could happen!
Yeah, Sticky Finga as Blade was the main thing I hated. The villains were good and his new half/vamp sidekick is smokin' hot. Sadly the main thing that will keep Blade on the air is- less of Blade.
yeah, whoever casted Sticky as Blade needs a back handed pimpslap. There are so many other decent black actors who coulda taken this role and ran with it! I personally think Michael Jai White(Spawn) woulda been ill! But since Sticky isn't a real actor, they probably got him to do it for peanuts...which in turn may have freed up money for special effects and the like.
I know this is something for another thread but speaking of Spawn, he should definitely be deserving of a VS set similar to Hellboy(more so in my opinion)
One thing I dont understand is how they are eventually going to have Blade go up against C'thon. Deacon Frost was small fry, Dracula is big, but still only a vampire, but C'thon is an Elder God!!! He created the Vampires, and the Darkhold. I have a feeling its going to have a dumb ending to his first enemy on the show.
OK, I am watching it now on my DVR, and they just mentioned werewolves, and ther guy says its his colleague Marc Spector's field of expertise. Marc Spector = Moon Knight!!! I wonder if he will be in the show. It would be an excellent contrast to Blade with his all white outfit compared to Blade's all black. This is starting to look up!!
i missed that part! but see what i mean? this show could be the vehicle for some much cooler characters showing up. they need a story arc that will turn Blade bad and have a couple other heroes team up in order to stop him
One thing i thought was cool was the idea of vampire ash being some designer drug. They can go a lot of places with that, for a couple episodes at least. It'll be funny to see a vampire crack ho! "I'll suck you dry for $20!"
