Ego's like the guy in an office who stands by your cubicle talking, and doesn't seem to stop, even for breaths. (you keep listening because you know he doesn't have anyone else to talk to)
If Ego met Mogo, Mogo would be stuck there listening, basically until Ego finished....however long that'd take.
Thus, the longwinded answer to your question, IMO, is yes.
Even if you think the answer is no, legally it really has to be the way it is now.
Mogo is a DC location, so even the concept of having a Marvel location specifically mention a DC location in its text is one that might have legal consequences for UDE.
Since Mogo doesn't have any identities or any other distinction from all other locations, without directly mentioning Mogo, there is no reasonable way to exclude Mogo from Ego's ability without mentioning it specifically, which, again, is legally impossible.
ego reminds me of those creatures from magic's onslaught block that have that "you may choose not to untap _____" thing. i bet thats where they got the idea for ego from.
if ego gets the mojo treatment too then he'll get the character he deserves in MTU or something.
I really doubt we'll see a an Ego character card anytime soon, as aside from just not being a very known character, there probably won't be another galactic-focused set for several years.
Not really. Mogo is a pretty cosmic level being himself. He's a PLANET. WITH A GREEN LANTERN RING!
I mean, even if the willpower ratio is something like 'area of rock the size of Canada = 1 average human', he's got a lot of Mogo Mojo.
He can probably blow up other planets, given an appropriately scaled up simple blast of energy from him should make the Death Star TurboLaser look like a pinprick.
The only reason he's not much of a mover and shaker is he's a good guy, he can't land on or go near another planet, and Green Lanterns don't tend to ask each other for backup that quickly (and a planet? Probably moves from place to place fairly slowly and with planning. Too much gravity to recklessly move about the cosmos - just moving about could have nasty consequences).
Plus, he's a Green Lantern. That means he has his own sector full of stuff to deal with. Damn... now I really wish there was a 'Mogo: The Greatest Green Lantern' title. I know I'd read it.
Actually, Ego vs Mogo would be an awesome crossover. You'd probably need to have a LOT of 'so, who TF are these two anyway?' included, but then you get down to planetary warfare.
re: Criticism of Galactus and Ego...
Ego, the Location, represents Ego when he's not directly involved in combat, much like Mogo, the Location. It's him being subtle. That's a fine power level for someone being subtle. (Kang, Immortus as a 'plot twist' versus an 8 drop is a good comparison - the fizzle is NOT the full extent of his potential influence, but he tends to meddle. Same with The Phantom Stranger [both versions]).
Galactus 9 versus Mogo + Guy Gardner? Galactus has had trouble dealing with Living Planets before [Ego, ftr], and Mogo - with another Green Lantern riding shotgun - making a forcefield big and strong enough to hold off Galactus is not implausible. Especially since you need to throw in Katma Tui to not just lose to the life siphon. That's actually a fairly impressive roster you need to _hold him off_. (Yes, they can team attack to stun him - deal. Team Attacks aren't them winning one on one... and again, Galactus 9's ability means they need a small army of Green Lanterns to not lose because they attacked [stunbacks/life siphon])
Yeah. The Green Lantern Corps, with Mogo actually showing up to a battle, is pretty scary. En masse, they're pretty badass when they're at their best (and that is those two at their best - Mogo the location and Guy Gardner 5 would get their clocks cleaned)
Galactus 7 losing that fight is a lot more understandable, too. This is Galactus feeling kinda hungry. He's running a bit low on power, and without the support of one of his Heralds (or SOMEONE), or some kind of plan (Plot Twist), he's not going to do so good.

Another thing ... in the DC Universe the power that the green lanterns wield is probably as close to the 'Power Cosmic' as you are going to get. Heck, they even ended up going with GL Vs. Silver Surfer in DC Vs. Marvel [it was one of the 'off-screen battles they invented for the card set though, like Steel Vs. Iron Man].
Galactus at his peak and Paralax are toe to toe in terms of stats. Full access to the Power Cosmic is basically equivalent to full access to the power battery of OA. The Heralds, like the Green Lanterns, only get to tap into this immense power source, and thus they are littered all over the curve.
That's another thing to explain the power levels of 9 and 7-drop Galactus. The 7-drop is 'the Maker' ... if he's giving the Heralds power then he doesn't have all the Power Cosmic to himself.
