Before everyone disagrees with me let me tell you why I think this. There are a lot of discussions lately about ways to keep a casual player base as well as the competitive player base. I really believe that if PC's ended a format there would be more interest from the casual players and here's why.
When the new bunch of PCQ's and 50K's begin, pros will be less likely to show up. I say this because if they do show up, they'll have to bring the deck that their teams have been working on and casual players will get a chance to see the deck in action and come up with ways to beat them. By the time the PC comes up the metagame may make a complete shift. This is a good thing. It keeps things fresh.
Casual players will get some much needed practice. The problem I have with getting new players into this game is that they have to guess what the upcoming format will look like based on previous knowledge that they have to "study" for. A new player doen't want to have to research a game they just began as it can be frustrating but if they got a chance to show up to a new format before the PC then they will get a chance first hand at these great decks and be able to see what it takes to be a top competitor at PC's.
Overall, I just think that casual players will benefit more and maybe even stay in the game if we can even out the playing field a bit. Maybe I'm wrong though and I'm anxious to see what others think.
i personally would be more inclined to build my own deck if the pc didnt hand me over 100 decks for the format. it is just too tempting to take someone elses deck ideas.

No offense, but pros will still show up, and likely still be playing better decks. Not the decks they are working on for the PC, but still better decks. Atleast after the PC the casual players know what the better decks are and have the choice to play one of them (or tech against them). I think the casual player has a much better chance to compete after all the "secret tech" has been spoiled.

I'm in agreement with Dalton. The reason they are Pros is not because of some secret deck, but because they are great players. The level of competition on the PCQ circuit, while high, is not as high as it is at the PC. They will definitely not play the deck they are working on for the PC at PCQs
I think it just makes sense that if someone QUALIFIES (IE: PCQ) for a certain format, they should play the PC that is the same format. This cycle makes sense, right?
Also, if this was the case, what would the format be right now? Silver Age? You'd have 2 different group of sets legal (Supes-Crisis and then MK-Legion). Would that really be a positive?
