Seems like UDE is getting tired of the VS System is dying, UDE never tells us anything, what happened to the points system, when is the pc, and other glass half empty threads.
How long should I wait to break out the "I told you so's?" I don't want be accused of being incompetent for taking too long to say something.
Anyway, cool to hear from the new guy, and will be interested in seeing his contributions week after week.
Also, the City Championship thing sounds cool, not to mention because, assuming Hobby League is now back on track [which it should be, now that they've dealt with whatever was causing the problems in the past] it follows the same method. So it rewards stores that have Hobby Leagues, as well as encouraging new stores to try it as well.
It's also interesting that UDE Point cards are confirmed for Marvel Team-Up.
Sorry, not really that impressed (and I like Hobby League). Unless there's some additional draw for both experienced players and newbies alike I don't see this changing the essential problem of "not enough people coming out for casual-level organized play." If exclusive EA cards weren't doing the job for Hobby League I don't see how they're going to do the job for City Championships.
It's early and the info's still incomplete, but so far... eh.
UDE points are currently used for getting ingame toys for World of Warcraft, or downloading Warcraft themed computer wallpapers.
I imagine they'll update the points store with VS stuff before March.
I don't go to any Hobby Leagues because I playtest at home during the week, and becuase I have at least two PCQs a month within 45 minutes of my home. I'd go to a City Championship though.

It just says exclusive prizes...so maybe new playmats, tins, shirts?
Also it could be interesting maybe a new format. It says that it will take place one month after the release of a new set...so maybe they will give you a month to make a real 60 card deck from the new cards only and then come back and compete or something.
