Improvements that could still be made to the VS System website
Yeah I know they've done a lot of work to the website and I'm not #####ing about it, I'm just offering some constructive criticism.
1) Instead of having the Release Celebrations links at the bottom of the Article and Resource tabs, wouldn't it make a lot of sense to actually fix the links that are in the Tournament tab? I mean either have a description of the tournaments there with a link, or don't have them there at all.
2) PUT THE DEMO BACK ON THE FRONT PAGE WHERE IT'S EASILY FOUND.
Sorry, I just get a little worked up over that. If a new player is going through the website, looking for info on how to play, what is going to keep him more interested in the game, a (48 page).pdf instruction manual or a flash demo? I know they've made changes to the card templates and maybe they have a new demo in the works (though probably not), I still think it is a good resource to have. Plus, they still have the Hellboy manual up so I doubt that's the reason behind it.
3) This one is just a personal preference but when Metagame.com still existed, when I was looking for past articles, I could just click on sort by date and every single metagame article that ever existed came up on the same page and if I knew about what I was looking for I could just ctrl-f and find it that way. Now they've got it separated into small blocks so it makes it more difficult, if not impossible to find the article you're looking for if it's more than a couple weeks old.
4) Fix the Hobby League list. I know it was only posted recently but right now it's almost unbearable to find some place close to you to play. Put it in some sort of discernible order like the Release Celebrations are. Sort it by country, then state, then city. Having done some html design in the past, I know this isn't a difficult proposition unless for some reason they just typed all those places out instead of putting them in a database of some sort. And if that's the case, they deserve to do the work to fix it.
5) If you're going to have a link that says "Buy Now", you better make damn sure that it brings you to a place where you can actually buy what you're clicking on, otherwise you're just going to lose customers. Now I know that people shouldn't be buying VS directly from UDE, partly to support their local store and partly because their prices are ridiculous but here's what happens:
You click on the symbol above Buy Now: You're brought to a Marvel Legends description page. I know it's not exactly the right link but it can be an easy mistake to make if you don't click directly on Buy Now but that's not the main issue here...I'll continue. From there you can then click on Buy Now (again) on the Marvel Legends logo and it brings you to the UDE website for Marvel VS. Fantastic! But there's a problem....Marvel Legends is nowhere to be found. Clearly UDE hasn't put the set up yet because it's not out yet but this is just going to confuse and irritate people, especially if they buy the wrong set because of it.
Alright that's pretty much everything I can think of. Like I said, it's just criticism and obviously this VS website is a hell of a lot better than the POS that we were stuck with before but there can still be improvements that could be made.
When I click for event coverage. I then get a page, THEN I have to click a link to get to the coverage. For anyone with a slow dial-up connection, that gets REALLY annoying. Just put the coverage right there, no need for another link.

Oh #### I was going to put that one down too but I forgot. That was actually at the top of my list when I started...haha.

This is the big one for me. The "view all articles by author" tab, and the old comprehensive Archives set-up are sorely missed.
Also, I'm not sure whether I'm just not seeing it or not but it looks like they completely got rid of the card search. I know most 3rd party websites have them but it would be nice if the official VS website had it.

That would be for more of the new players considering we all have Docx's list but, maybe the less time consuming option for UDE would to just link everyone to Dylan's. He would probably like it as well.

The only issue I have with that is that it doesn't have any pictures does it? That would be a sticking point for me since I'm sure new players would like to see the cards their playing with.
EDIT: I just checked it out and it seems like you can see images of the cards but it's more steps than you'd have to take with any of the other VS search engines out there.

Yeah, he has pictures you just have to put it in the info before searching "regular with images."

It looks more organized and professional. When I go on a web page I don't wanna see a mess of things cluttered on one page.
I know its a company site and they're not inclined to take a 'fan' approach, but I'd recommend sub-sections for each team... maybe not more than just their general themes and an idea for a theme deck (since VS doesn't do structure decks...)
I'm sure its just me, but does vssystem.com just seem like a hole full of poo. Meta Game had enlightening articles about relevant formats and stimulating card interaction, and yet with rare exception most of what they post is pointless crap.
Golden Age decks huh?
Lets talk about when the game was cool a year ago huh?
Even some of the "Pro" player decks seem just blah.
I don't want to bash the writers, this is a difficult time for the game.
But heck MetaGame usualy had something worth reading.
Maybe no one cares anymore.

Well, the "hole full of poo" still nets me emails from readers all around the world, so I'm not sure everyone shares your opinion on this.
But I do agree that, structurally, the site needs some tweaking- especially the sorting part.
