I had anoth one of those randome thoughts. Will the MK figures stay at this current level of rarity or will there be fewer over time. The reason I ask is that it seems to me that it is much easier to throw away paper than miniatures even if the miniatures really suck
In 30 years, do you think MK will be more or less valuable overall. I am assuming a constant state of interest and not predicting a reprint.
Will Anunub or Cheala be the equivalent of Action Comics number 1, where most of the copies were torn up or thrown away?
Or will the overll numbers remain the same because nobody is willing to toss out there plastic and the value only go up with inflation?
Now assuming constant interest is a little bit of a stretch, as once this group of gamers loses interest (or we bite the dust), prices will tank. Unless they do a reprint and spark new interest.
I think the number available for sale will dwindle slowly. Some things will be lost or damaged, but on the other hand, most people who are keeping figures nowadays actually do want them.
The real question is demand, which has also shrunk. Action comics is worth so much because there are still millions of Superman fans who would want it.

It's an interesting dynamic.
I agree on the demand. If MK were to catch on again, and Wizkids could turn it into a good profitable game again with the longevity of their heroclix line, then I'd say the old figures would gain more value.

What do you think?
I think this part says it all. It's going to depend on "this group of gamers" ie the fan base. Besides stratego's site, are there any other sites besides mk/ccg realms that are still active? If MK had the same or even relatively close to the same following as MTG then I have no doubt that figure values would maintain or go up, but if this site, meaning the site itself and its visitors, lose interest, what else exists to support or promote the game?
nice site warcon, it has beena while for me but i remember the big following in the phillipines.....this reminds me how much i need to push for a big revival here lol
