Something that's been bugging me for a while in Heroclix has been the destruction of walls. A thin black line turns into 2 giant hindering terrain squares. Really??
It just gets annoying sometimes... You bust a wall, try and get through, but have to stop because hindering in the way, or your line of sight is hindered to shoot inside. We also have doors and windows in the game now. "Let me destroy that window..." and boom there's a bigger mess somehow so your line of sight is hindered. "Let me destroy that door..." boom, now you have to stop to enter. It's completely understandable putting a hindering marker if you're destroying a square of blocking terrain since it takes up a full square, but not a wall.
My solution would be for the player who destroys the wall to make it clear terrain on both sides of the destroyed wall, but drop 2 lights or 1 heavy item in an adjacent square(s).
If light items are placed, you can easily move through and shoot unhindered. If its a heavy, you still have the option of moving the object out of the way or destroy it. Same could be done with blocking terrain after it is destroyed, but only heavy objects are placed after its destruction.
You've never done demolition on a construction job have you? Bust out a wall and see if you can walk through it. The thing is the materials grow when they become trash. How do 6 2x4s and 4 sheets of sheetrock, take up no room in the bed of your truck, but if you tear out that 8 ft wall, it fills up the truck bed?
You got a nice simplifying idea. But debris markers are comic and real world accurate.
At the same time, its conservation of mass. If you blast down a wall, the wall doesn't disappear, its rubble gets scattered. I dare you to blow up a wall and try to walk through the rubble at normal speed... wait, thats a terrible idea. Doors also are the same situation cause the door is likely closed. Windows can be weird. I suppose of you think about it like blowing up the entire wall with the window it could make sense. Just the window should be easy to blast down though. I don't actually understand windows in the game. Apparently you can shoot through the glass but can't smash and run or jump through the window. And shooting through ut doesn't make a hole to dive through. Windows are just weird imo. Sorry for the random tangent. Overall, I get what you are saying but remember that thin black line is much taller and more solid than hindering. All you are doing is scattering it into 2 squares, causing it be less in your way but still there. That.is my opinion, though.

I doubt that most heroclix figures are carpenters demolishing walls from the ceiling to the ground, and then neatly stacking up a 4ft tall pile on both sides of the man sized hole. They're blasting through a wall.
