I was looking at the new FAQ, and it had something about not being able to use Hydra etc to modify an attack in the middle of the HSS movement.

At a tournament not long ago, I went to great lengths to isolate my opponent's medic not long ago and base it with two characters. Well, my opponent TKs his Black Adam over, who does some HSS move, smacks the character I based his medic with, and then picked up his medic and took him away.

So my question is, can you do that? Can you pick up your medic at any time in the middle of HSS option 1?

No - and yes.

In the order you told it - it would not be legal. Black Adam cannot move and / or attack and then pick up another character.

However, if Black Adam was TK'd over to the medic where he was adjacent to that medic before taking an action himself, he could pick the medic up, and then attack, and then fly-off.

Now when using HSS and carrying a figure, you cannot put that character down until the end of your move. Hence you cannot gain any benefits from the carried figure (PD/Hydra / Enhancement, etc) while the HSS fig is attacking.
