Assume Hope can get access to Leadership through Mutant Messiah. Is she able to roll for Leadership before her power expires on the following turn?

No she can't.

Now, once't upon a time (lights my pipe) a feller could use a free action during the beginning of his turn. So Hope would been able to use her power and then roll for the Leadership thereby gained. But that ain't the way it works no more.

Now get off my lawn!

Yeah, taking Leadership is pretty useless. At most, you get Leadership, push someone off of Leadership, and you still get the +1 action.

That's what I thought. Funny irony in this Messiah not being able to lead. :-(

If you push them off Leadership, she loses it too.
