Interesting that this Legacy card actually downgrades Mr. Cassidy a bit. His original version nerfs reducers and shuts down Super Senses altogether. We also lose a bunch of keywords here. Not sure I like the update.

The trait is not really that different.
Both stop Super Senses within 6. Both effectively cap damage reduction at 1. He does lose the bonus damage.

His special Pulse Wave is better.
He no longer needs to use a Double Power Action (do they still exist in the rules?) to use the additional Improved Targeting since he does it all the time. When he uses Pulse Wave he deals his printed damage of 3 instead of the normal 1.

He does lose the trait protecting him from being damaged by Black Tom Cassidy, but that was such a rare occurrence it doesn't seem like much of a loss.

Interesting that his pulse wave is such a departure from the current PW. Pick a horse WKs.

The biggest difference in the trait is that it now requires Line of Fire, when it didn't before. That's a big nerf.

I think the idea is to have basic powers not be so flat out amazing that you need them on any team to compete. Pulsewave needs an overhaul anyhow, however it's nice that they make it powerful every here and there for specific characters.

I got hyped over that special pulse wave for printed and the trait even though it requires LOF now. That being said, my only concern playing him would be that the elimination of pushing damage and his lack of reducers leads me to believe that there's a pretty good chance he won't even get to use that Pulse Wave.

So, does his special PW deal full printed damage to all hit targets within the area of effect? If so, then that’s pretty sweet. And (damn I need to learn rules better) can fliers be carried now? If they can, Hello HoX Nightcrawler!

Yes, he will deal printed damage to all targets. (If this was a rule forum I would put the PW power showing why it is the case, but it would just show up as a jumbled mess in the units comments section). And yes fliers can be carried in the current rules (again this would be followed by an explanation).

It’s just, well a lotta times when I want to comment on why I see something really nice about a unit here in the units section, I hold back because I am unsure if it actually works like I’m thinking it would. I was pretty sure about the full printed damage and why, but not the fliers being carried because that’s new-ish. I just also like comments on units, since it’s part of the ‘realms and sometimes it’s an under-used area, imo. I see “rules questions in the rules forums” answers a lot. And I understand about what you’re saying about the formatting of posts here. But also, I think it’s fine to ask here as a yes or no, when a SP or trait seems to bend or ignore certain “rules”, and if there were anything further to be discussed, then, yep, take it up in the rules forum. But just to ask if something works the way a person is thinking it does or does not, just further develops discussion of the unit in question, right here in the units comments section.
