Does Mind Control work with quake? I hadn't thought of this until recently, and didn't think it would work, but the PAC defines Quake as: "When this character makes a close attack," and Mind Control says to "make a close/range attack." I don't see why they wouldn't work together, but someone correct me. Thanks!
Looking at the 2021 article - "It's a combo", yeah, you're good to go. MC is an attack replacement, which can be close, Quake modifies a close attack... Go for it bro. Like Stomp BOOM Brainwash!
Someone used this at our games a few weeks back. Definitely need to remember the figure in case I want to use it too! It was weird but we allowed it. I had to look it up too and that "It's a Combo" article was far more clear and helpful than just trying crawl through the PAC or Comp Rule book!
MIND CONTROL CLOSE/RANGE: Minimum range 6. Make a close/range attack.Instead of normal damage, each hit character halves speed and becomes friendly to your force and, one at a time, may in either order: Move and/or make an attack, then it reverts forces.

QUAKE When this character makes a close attack, they may target all adjacent opposing characters. If they do, they gain KNOCKBACK (for this attack) and deal each hit character 2 damage instead of normal damage.

Some attacks don’t deal normal damage and use the phrase “instead of normal damage.” You deal the specified amount of damage, or apply the specified effect, instead of dealing (or dividing) the attacker’s damage value to the target(s).
If a multiple effects that do something “instead of normal damage” would apply, the active player chooses one to apply and the others are ignored.
So no, you cannot combine them.
Waller KOs: AA Robin, Kid Devil, Joker, Question; AW E Cap; FCBD Iron Man; Miracle/Oberon; John Stewart x2, Iron Patriot; Shatterstar; IH Herc; CW Photon & Nitro; FF Nite Owl; 10An R Thor, E Iron Man, Weapon X; FF Kilowog; Hugo Strange; Calender Man; Legion Cosmic Boy & Lightning Lad, LE Pete Wisdom
Ok help me understand this because the way I read this you're showing evidence for combining the two powers.
Both of these powers can replace/modify a close attack. Both of these have an ""instead of normal damage" phrase. Why would They NOT combine? Why would I NOT be able to choose which to use and which to ignore?
The way I read it, using Quake to target multiple characters has a qualifier.

If you use Quake to target all adjacent opposing characters, you are choosing to deal 2 damage instead of normal damage, based on the conditional IF -> THEN statement above. This disqualifies you from then using Mind Control.

Ok, this makes more sense. If I choose the multi-target of quake, that locks in my option of "which instead am I using" - ?
