Awesome idea for a mission points driven character.
They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark

I would agree. The idea of basically creating a World War in order to win the game is very accurate to the character. While I wanted a 250-300 point monster, there is no denying the creativity in a piece like this.
So this mission point thing is never going to happen. You have to kill 40 “soldiers” to get your 20 mission points. Ares creates 2 “if” he hits his leadership. So if you hit leadership every turn that would take like 21 turns of you and your opponent killing “soldiers”. I realize you can start with the generic soldiers on your force but then they have 3 clicks each and harder to kill.

It would happen much quicker. He gets 1 mission point each turn for every 2 endless war tokens but the endless war tokens are never removed. Meaning if he creates his first two soldiers and they are killed he gets 2 endless war tokens and next turn he gets 1 mission point. If he creates two more soldiers and they are killed that's 2 more endless war tokens for a total of 4 and 2 more mission points the next turn. It's unlikely but if Ares gets his leadership every turn and the 2 solders die every turn Ares would win at the beginning of turn 7.
@Yelak You'd be surprised. During the prerelease I won because of time/points, but I was two rounds away from winning with his Mission Points. They can add up pretty quickly.

So Ares teams up with that character who kills everyone with the same name (I forget which fig it is. we'll call him Sam) and you give him an equipment that gives him energy explosion. Play several allied soldiers and throw them at your opponent. Ares generates doods and Sam energy explodes them, killing all of them quickly. Yay splash damage. Should rack up mission points pretty quickly.
So the tokens stay for the game, right? If I already have 2 tokens get a VP at start of my turn, then I KO a couple more of the soldiers, I get two more tokens, so now I have 4 so every turn, I'm generating 2 VPs each turn.

Ares is probably your best shot to win via mission points, however you can't just rely on his leadership roll. Plan to bring at least 10x 20pt allied/german soldiers along with him. Run em in, tie up your opponents and hopefully force your opponent to kill them all. This could be fun in higher point games or battle royals.
While he makes G/A soldiers, he triggers in any sidekick so I'd rather go with Minotaur at 20 points since they have charge/blades. With the hose to plexing damage, blades is huge for doing bigger damage these days. I intend to push on both fronts damage and mission points. Add Herbie for more life and MPs. Add Thing for toughness, Andy for Shape Change and Spiderman for Super Senses and those are some brutal Minotaurs.
My local heroclix group plays with pre indomitable knot house rules, (all indomitable knot and forward are double points to balance it) i find this character funny due to on the card the bystanders not having indomitable
