Question regarding 2 older pieces that I just now pondered

So he can recruit dolphin symbols to his crew, and I went to use this with my favorite Namor, but..................

He only has dolphin granted by trait. Does that ruin it?

I believe Namor would gain the Pirate keyword. I think the "off the map section" has been cleaned up in such a way that it doesn't prevent that from happening.
