Stupid TA Construction instant win loophole thing you should try
So if you're playing Team Construction, just play any team that has a character with Pulse Wave, cause as soon as you hit with it, it ignores the TAs, and thus the opponent is cheating playing characters without the proper team affiliation, they must forfeit (if not get kicked out for trying to pull a fast one), and you win, with maximum victory points.
I think what he is trying to say is that if you're in a tournament which has a rule of "all members of the team must have the same Team Ability", that he somehow believes that ignoring a Team Ability is the same thing as getting rid of a Team Ability, and that if you COULD get rid of a Team Ability somehow, that it would mean your opponent would have to forfeit for some strange reason even though they followed the build rules of the tournament.
That's what I think he's saying, anyway. The problem is, ignoring something doesn't make it go away. I ignore your Batman Ally TA every time I move one of my figures (because it has no impact on my movement of figures, just like it has no impact on the use of Pulse Wave), that doesn't mean you don't still have it.
I had taken the Team Construction to mean that it was a normal team built using standard build rules, which is what threw the monkeywrench into my thought processes...
Don't blame yourself, TechLee. It was a considerable stretch.
A friend noted, though, that in the description for Leap/Climb in the Universe PAC it says "...ignores the effects of characters and terrain on movement." Sure, it wouldn't get far against any judge, but when one considers that it gives a blanket ignore to "terrain" without consideration to indoor or outdoor environments it appears to technically grant Phasing on indoor maps. Sure, sure, we know it doesn't, but the rules lawyers live by the letter of the law.
All warfare is based on deception. Hence when able to attack we must seem unable. When we are near we must make the enemy believe we are far away when far away we must make him believe we are near. Feign disorder, and crush him. Sun Tzu
How many dreams have we woken up from where we only realize once we try to explain it that the flow of events/reasoning in the dream didn't survive the trip back to reality. Messageboards, email and and like are so immediate that if we don't stop ourselves almost anything can come out.

Ah! I'll pass that one along.
But... they couldn't fix the online, printable pdf copy to reflect it?
For all of the good things WK does, the FAQs remain out of control. Hopefully, as is often the case with so many HC game mechanics, once the DC set comes out (whatever they call the new base set) we'll have a new, new set of rules and PAC card that won't already need an FAQ by the time it appears.
